Dictator Xi propaganda film breaks box office records - because citizens have to watch it

He has a nickname praising his paternalism, a song depicting him as the ideal husband, and now president Xi Jinping has his own box office-breaking movie which hails his leadership.

But while authorities claim that Amazing China is a "smash hit" and a widely-loved "epic" that will have a "huge social effect", its success at the box office is in fact the result of people being forced to watch it.

The 90-minute documentary film was created by state broadcaster CCTV to highlight the country's achievements since Mr Xi assumed leadership in 2012.

It has become the top grossing factual movie ever in China, raking in over 300 million yuan (£34 million) at the box office since it opened on March 2.

China model is not perfect but compare to India model Chinese collectivism had achieve the great success, we were once poorer than India before 1960s and through our collectivism spirit now we're more wealthier than them. But I agree with you that our workers didn't get much out of it due to exploitation and corruption, nevertheless as national scale, it make China wealthy, strong and competitive in international stage.

We don't expect a perfect but a competitive governing system. As long as the government go to the right direction to bring China glory as during Tang Empire, all people will stick with them, if this propaganda movie can guide & motivate Chinese people to serve the nation than it's certainly better than sex or any fantasy movies...which a total wasting time.

You can keep fantasize on how China lose but we don't really care, we're confident that we're doing the right thing and walk on the path to fulfill our destiny. China is not a nation that like to get attention as India, we just keep a low profile while we make our nation wealthy since 40 years and keep continue this way, and we don't beg anyone to embrace our culture since we don't want to impose or export our model, we rather to keep jealously for ourselves. 1.4 billions with 56 ethnics brothers and sisters are just enough for us to pay attention with.

To be powerful in international stage doesn't mean that China will have to go to western way to make alliance, we rather want to go to our traditional way to attract allies: our enemy will make mistake and we will capitalized on their mistake such as India which push Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka toward China, and just keep it simple, in this world China will have no trouble to find allies but it's not the time nor in China's interest to do so.
