Hasina Bibi rocks!

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said she will hold talks with the opposition only if the US President Joe Biden sits for a dialogue with former US president Donald Trump.

"Is [US President] Biden holding dialogue with Mr Trump? If Biden sits with Trump for dialogue, then I will hold the dialogue [with opposition]," she told a press conference regarding US Ambassador's call to hold dialogue with opposition.

Following a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal, the US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas expressed hoped that all sides going forward will engage in a "dialogue" without preconditions to de-escalate tensions and find a path forward to a free, fair, and peaceful election. Meanwhile, the prime minister has reiterated that the people of Bangladesh do not want any dialogue with the killers.

"No dialogue with the killers. This is Bangladesh. People of the country also do not want any dialogue with killers," she told the press conference. Election will be held and it will be held on time, she added. "They won't be able to stop the election in such a way ... They couldn't stop the elections in 2013 and 2018. This time too they won't be able to do so. The election will be held on time," she said.

Hasina accused BNP of wanting to create unrest ahead of the national election. "BNP is a terrorist party, as a terrorist party they need to get a good lesson," she said during the press conference. She said those who burn buses will be identified, arrested and punished. "I think the hands they use to set a bus on fire should be burned immediately. If so, they will get a lesson or else not," she said replying to a question from a journalist. The PM hoped that the BNP would stop the violence. "If they don't stop, they will face the consequences for it," she said.

'No change in cabinet during election'
About the election-time government, Hasina said the full cabinet will do only routine work during the next election. "We'll follow the system that was followed in 2018," she said, adding that the ministers will do only the routine work after the announcement of the election schedule as per the RPO.

She said the ministers can't enjoy the government's facilities after the announcement of the election schedule and the submission of nomination papers as per the RPO. "They will have to seek votes just as a candidate," she said.
She said Bangladesh will follow the election-time system that is followed by Australia, Canada, India, and England.

Regards

Trump will be president in 13 months and Hasina knows it.

She will time out Biden 🤣🤣

If Hasina wants to follow the US political system then she should not seek another term because in the US no one can have more than two terms as president.

She expressly said she doesn’t believe US is a democracy!

And neither do most scholars.

The president is elected by the electoral college. And the electoral college is not elected by popular vote either.

That’s how Trump and Bush won despite losing the popular vote.

In a parliamentary democracy - the parliament is sovereign. The PM is appointed and can be dismissed by parliament. The PM is not an elected position - it is an appointed position. Hence is answerable to parliament.

Shut your smelly mouth and learn a little more about American Constitution to protect the right of each State.

Study these things before blabbering again. You are very shameless. You have again proved yourself an illiterate Dudra who cannot a knowledge more than one minute,

Study and talk.

You can get your point across without using abusive language against others. Respect others and they will respect you.

You agents of the West are anxious to destroy another prospering Muslim democracy. We are awake now and help one another. If push comes to shove, the U.S.-sponsored terrorists should expect to fight dozens of TB3 and Akinci drones in the air simultaneously.
Insha Allah, you will not destabilize Bangladesh.

America is a bigger threat to world peace than all the so-called terrorists combined+Israel.

Indian Godi Media perspective

I don't follow the Indian media because most of the time they exaggerate the political situation especially in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Maldives.

What's with BD election and America ? @Bilal9 can you explain buddy

Long story short, Biden and company do not like Hasina - she herself proclaimed as such. Her propensity to oppress the opposition Indian style (using RAW advisers) is the main concern. Thousands of opposition (mainly BNP) activists have gone missing and/or turned up killed on the side of the road, subjects of encounter killings using the Rapid action battalion.

I think Biden's people will proceed to freeze whatever assets Hasina and her son/relatives funneled overseas (even the Gulf and S'pore), her son Joy's assets have reported to have been frozen already. Hasina's cabinet members will all get sanctions and their children's student visas will get cancelled. This is big.

Visa cancellation doesn't just mean the US. It means all US allies will deny visas. Except maybe Russia and China (and of course mother India).

Regime change is expected to happen soon, the way the local US Ambassador (Peter Haas) is making the rounds of political leaders and the Chief elections commissioner. Unless Hasina agrees to turn over mantle to a caretaker govt. which seems unlikely. Which means regime change for sure using other means.

Indians have been asked to sit this one out by the US foreign affairs people.

The axe will fall at some point, but this is not like twenty years ago, when a coup-d'etat might happen easily using the army.

In the last two decades Hasina and the Indians have heavily greased the palms of the armed-services top brass, so that a chance of a coup may be lessened. They have also largely politicized the top and middle echelon of the administration including the law and order orgs, and the judiciary.

However if the US pulls out the trump card (canceling UN missions overseas which is a large income source for the army etc.) then things will change. @saif and @VikingRaider bhais I don't know if you can add anything further.
