Dhaka’s no to US request for sheltering Afghans

Brain drain fucking sûcks:suicide:

Kinda wish we could develop the dam nation already and give these future scientists , engineers ,game developers ,chemists ,astronauts etc a place where they can stay and actually do these things to improve Bangladesh and it’s image internationally.

But no , our politicians see the short term goal of taking Indian money and stealing Bangladesh’s money.

The problem is electing uneducated cadre goondas from rank village politics level to top leadership positions which we now see in AL. These people have zero foresight and vision for the country, owing to their lack of exposure.

In India too, you need to be at least sixty before you can be electable to any important position and by that time, these people would have far better experience in running things than their counterparts in Bangladesh, who are probably in their thirties and forties and can be completely fooled by Indian agents into short term corruption goals, and doing India's bidding. Indians are counting on this Bangladeshi chaos and so far have been successfully controlling our trade policy, to Indian gain, and our complete detriment.

What these leader schmucks in Bangladesh don't get is that if they built up Bangladesh, they could make Bangladesh a far better situation for corruption even, in ten years' time, totally devoid of Indian dependency and influence.

However, I met a highly qualified person who left America and went back to BD. He got a very good job with many perks and privileges. But he left the country because he had nothing to do, no works and sitting on the hifi sofa all day long.

A country must nurture the private sector to absorb all those acclaimed people. Govt employments cannot be created in a way that the country needs and the works in the govt sector are worthless for a worthy person.

I agree , after the death of Hasina BD will eventually need a new leader who will have a very difficult task of taking BD to the next level in the next 50 + years or so.

I feel like even with the mass corruption BD is automatically developing , which is good but the cons are is that it's too slow compared to actual development under a proper leadership.

Honestly I just want to see a developed BD which is comparable to nations like Norway , Japan , Korea or even Taiwan.

Maybe we might get a proper leader in the near future , who knows ?

We need a shrewd and educated leader like Lee Kuan Yew in S'pore, which is a tall order to fulfill...

While I support this approach from GoB..

I have one gripe.. what is it with FM Momen's tone, buddy sounds apprehensive whenever he is delivering a statement.

Like he's stuck in a permanent existential crisis.. relax saying 'no' won't get us nuked...

"Don't put us in further trouble" pfff get a grip.
He’s a ladyboy and ladyboy says no before getting railed in jail
Have you met some of the Afghanis? I have.

Not saying all are like this, but quite a few I have met look down on Bangladeshis in general. Their stereotype for Bangladeshis is that we all chew on Pan Parag 24/7 and spit Pan juice all over the place. Based on ignorance of course. Idiots. Not a fan of the ignorant uneducated types who don't know how to control their temper and behavior.

However some are genuinely nice, especially some of the women. And of course educated folks. I have quite a few friends who are happily married to Afghan women for a while now.

Pakistan's experience in sheltering Afghan refugees is something to take a lesson from. Pakistan bent over backwards in sheltering Afghan people, but all you hear from overseas Afghans, is hate for Pakistan and Pakistanis.

The point is - we can accept immigrants on a points system like Canada. I vet that 100%. If you can contribute to Bangladesh' future talentwise, you are welcome to Bangladesh. Bring in more talent (which we need) and ship all the laborers overseas where they can do more good than at home, where they can cause more trouble for a box of Biryani and Korma.
My views on afgans from experience in Kuwait is: they can be extremely racist with over pretentious self righteous view on life. Involved in crimes, extremely rude.
however I’ve only interacted with one afghan girl on a personal level, they’re just downright amazing angels and quite beautiful too
No need to be so politically correct.. Bangladesh is a country for Bengalis not a charity or a shelter for lost children.

Let the Afghans best friend India, take care of their affairs.

The world is cruel.. you got overrun by taleban who are comprised of afghans themselves.. too bad.. should've fought like men instead of surrendering.

No respect, no shelter for a band of cowards.
Aye, agreed. We are no non profit organization. Let Statue of Liberty house these cave dwellers

BRAC has projects in Pakistan too, including BRAC schools.

My cousin worked on a few projects there. Let's just say, she said out of all projects they have around the world, she never encountered this much cultural inertia, or even outright militant opposition, to the idea of sending girls to schools.

Not as bad as Afghanistan obviously, but let's just say Pakistani villages, even some towns, are a lot more challenging for cultural reasons alone, than even the most backward villages in Bangladesh

There is something seriously fundamentally wrong with that part of the world.
Have been martial people for too long, proper centeries, now the age of martial traditions have ended

Struggle of adopting to new ways of doing things but tbvh I don't think this is the issue of whole of Pakistan, Afg-Pak regions mostly
