Dhaka rejects Delhi’s curfew suggestion

India is already imposing dusk to dawn curfew on its side of the border, but that won't deter the Bangladeshi trespassers, they would still risk it and get shot at. So the problem remains.

It would have been good if Bangladeshis officials gave a reason for turning down the suggestion, instead of just saying that," we don't believe in curfew".

The next would be ' shoot at sight' orders to impose the curfew I suppose.

The reason is simple, the border is diffused, there are some places ( as in most )
where land falls just in the borderline or just inches away so thousands of hectares
are wasted for something quite unnecessary and expensive. Nothing to do with the
retarded migration theory!

Very hard to prove when you are trespassing into another country and BSF guards are firing in self defence.

Worth a shot though, but I still think imposing a night curfew on your side of the border would be an easier and much effective option.

Really?? And what court could you possibly go to? Trespassers whatever their reasons are law breakers, BD simply has no locus standi from the legal viewpoint, can only ask India to be more benevolent in its approach but has no right to demand that.

Basic school level English education is enough to understand that non-lethal weapon is used for non-lethal purposes unless ofcourse killing someone is non-lethal in BD.

BGB commander knows english far better than you guys do!!! When asked whther BGB considers non lethal weapons, he answered "We dont belived in killing unarmed civilians" which means Non Lethal weapons are unnecessary/redundant for BGB who does not opt for killing in the first place. Lethal or non Lethal does not make any difference to BGB as they dont open fire at civilians.

Non lethal weapons are suggested for BSF.

Yesterday,a journalist on a tv talk show told that once he heard from a former BSF DG that border side phensidyl factories of India make special phensidyls in which they just increase the volume of some addictive ingredients and later they smuggle these things into Bangladesh.Why doesn't India shut down those factories even after getting requests from Bangladesh so many times??If India wants us to do things that favor their interest then we certainly can expect the same from them.

Yaba comes from Burma not India....Yes it was once rickshawala drug but not anymore as bottle of phensydil costs 500-700tk or even more.Do you think a ricksha wala can afford that much??

yes but a single bottle of phensidyl will keep you high for a whole day. One yaba pill.....the good kind is around 500-700, you need a good 3-4 pills to get wired. BD government should talk to burma to stop this trade.
