Then what has tickled Idune in the wrong part of the anatomy?

Is he a razaakar who wants Bangladesh to sink?

Tell him to use Chinese locos and the pack up like the Pak Railways.

We won't shed tears!

In fact, it will be fun since militarily (which is his sole dream to be a superpower) BD would be a dead duck.

Where is Idune, why is he not here to defend his big talk by inference?

.
Can any Bangaldeshi. especially those who crow over every little issue as reaching superpower status, tell us as to why India is damned wrong in advising Bangladesh to change their gauge?

More so, since it will be beneficial to Bangaldesh?

Why this silence of the dead from the otherwise vociferous Bangladeshi posters?

I will confess I would love a response from the Bangladeshis, especially from Idune, who has coloured his post as if it were a MF Hussein painting.

And also from his compatriots who feel India is out to deluge poor little helpless BD!

They fail to realise that BD is a mere neighbour and not a threat or a gamechanger!

1. For several years past Indian railway has a project going to convert 5% non-BG lines into BG. That is s sensible decision to have one gauge all over the country.

2. Historically CD's railway network is a part of Assam - Bengal Railway. Some, mostly east of Jamuna - Padma , are MG. BD should have changed all to BG long ago. But Indian lobbies working through ADB and their appointed Indian consultants like RITES, ensured that BR stuck to MG so that IR's surplus eqpt could be painted fresh and pushed in here. Several such scandals had come to light, and the papers were writing about these when it was already too late.

.
The reaction from Bangladeshi side is really flabbergasting!

First of all India gave the credit of 1 billion dollar for the project then India suggested BD should go for broad-gauge rather than old age metre-gauge. In fact India would do this for them?

No matter how much you do for them nothing is good enough for them I suppose. :undecided:

Hopefully, BD does what is best for them!

.
BG hs more capacity.. It is good for BD. More people can be exported to india as compared to MG coaches..

1.BD never asked India for such money. She has pushed it down Hasina's throat. We are fine with what we have. We don't need BG line. Why should we take out a loan from India, be forced to buy their substandard items at exorbitant price and then pay interest? India herself leads the WB list as a loan receiver.

2. This is all connected to the Security Corridor India has obtained from BAL. Indian trains - all BG, will move on this proposed line. Same they have done with road and port developments.

3. All these will disappear once BAL goes - for ever we are hoping.

.
Pushed it down the throat!

You seem to be suggesting that Bangladeshis are real fools to take things that they don't want.
