Come to a District level town like Faridpur. It is no less hellish than Dhaka. The country's leaders do not give a damn about its development. Dhaka becomes more hellish in the rainy season. A 1/2 hour rainfall makes a knee deep water on many of the roads. I have seen many of the main roads are without drain/ditch. So, water is not disposed off, but waits until it is evaporated by the heat.
However, the ruling people do not have to worry because even if they are the most inept they have certain number of permanent voters to support them. This will continue until the Sun spends all its hydrogen fuel after about 500 years and destroys itself and the Earth in a big burst.
