DG ISPR PRESS RELEASE.

Pakistan Army’s Team participated in Exercise Cambrian Patrol - 2024, which was held at Wales, UK from 04-13 October 2024. This year, Exercise Cambrian Patrol celebrated its 65th year.

The exercise has retained its demanding professional standards; patrols all across from the globe had to move tactically across inhospitable terrain, covering a distance of 60 kms within 48 hours, completing specialist tasks in a contested environment.

This year, 128 teams from 42 Countries particpated in the Exercise and out of all these teams, Pakistan Army’s Team showed Exceptional Performance in the exercise and has been awarded with the Gold Medal.

It is indeed a proud moment for the whole Nation and Pakistan Army, which is known for its professionalism and highest standards of training. Pakistan Army has always held Country's flag high, Alhamdulillah.

H.E. Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, met General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, discussions were held on regional dynamics and the enhancement of bilateral security and defence cooperation between the two nations.
COAS reaffirmed Pakistan’s appreciation for Belarus’s contributions to global and regional affairs and expressed the desire to further strengthen the military partnership between both countries.
Prime Minister Golovchenko commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their pivotal role in promoting regional peace and stability, and acknowledged their professionalism and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
 
Pakistan Navy Cadets secured success at the 79th Naval Academy International Sailing Championship held in #Brazil

PakNavy cadets secured second position and received the silver medal

In total cadets from nine Naval Academies took part in J-24 class sailing boats.

Naval Academy Cadets of Brazil, Italy, China, Columbia, Portugal, Argentine, Peru and India participated in the competition.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, congratulated the Cadets for securing second success in last three months.

Successful anti-narcotics operation by Pakistan Navy: A large consignment of Indian-made narcotic pills seized. During the operation, 2000 kilograms of hashish, 370 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 50 kilograms of heroin were confiscated. The seized drugs are valued at $145 million in the international market. A large consignment of Indian-made prohibited narcotic pills was also seized during the operation. The confiscated drugs have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force. The Pakistan Navy remains active round-the-clock to prevent all kinds of illegal activities in the region's maritime boundaries.

General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited an operational air base of Pakistan Air Force today to witness the ongoing multinational exercise Indus Shield-2024. COAS was received by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M). Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI(M) was also in presence at the occasion.
Exercise Indus Shield-2024 is the biggest multinational exercise of the region that is witnessing participation from 24 esteemed Air Forces converging to foster interoperability and training through state-of-the-art facilities embodying the exercise motto; “Stronger When Together.”
COAS expressed his satisfaction over the combat readiness of Pakistan Air Force and the progress made through various modernization and up-gradation programs. Later, he witnessed exercise operations, static display of various niche and disruptive technologies where he was briefed on the modernization efforts of Pakistan Air Force to stay abreast with contemporary security challenges which was later followed by an enthralling aerial display by PAF fighter jets. COAS also interacted with the aircrew and appreciated the resolve of PAF personnel to safeguard the aerial frontiers of Pakistan. He emphasized on the critical role of inter-service collaboration, which he believes is essential for achieving operational success.
Chief of Air Staff expressed his gratitude for COAS's visit, reinforcing the commitment to enhance cooperation between the army and air force in both training and operational contexts. Air Chief apprised COAS on modernization and indigenization drive being carried out by PAF through induction of state of the art weapon systems.
While speaking at the occasion, Air Chief highlighted that the ongoing exercise Indus Shield-2024 will go a long way in bolstering interoperability amongst the participating nations and will train their air & ground crews to face contemporary warfare challenges.

On night 23/24 October 2024, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Bajaur District on reported presence of Khwarij.
During conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and after intense fire exchange, nine Khwarij, including two Suicide Bombers and a High Value Target Kharji ring leader Said Muhammad @qureshi Ustad were sent to hell.
A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from killed Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians.
Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
