Just 30 mins ago, #Libya National Air Force used one of its MiG-29 fighter interceptors to shoot-down another #Turkish Bayraktar TB2 armed drone of #GNA flying over Jaref Valley in west of #Sirte. This is reported to be the second one being shot-down in just 24 hours


It seems tide are going to turn against the GNA if Egypt actively started to participate with LNA

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has unanimously extended the arms embargo on Libya for an additional 12 months, requesting a full report from the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres within an 11-month period of its implementation

The UNSC said in a resolution the arms embargo should be executed according to the outputs of the Berlin Conference on Libya.

The resolution authorizes the search of ships at sea off the coast of Libya in search of illegal weapons, along with ships entering or leaving Libyan waters, heading into international waters, which may also be suspected of illegally transporting weapons.

I dont get this, but:
is UNSC literally embargoing GNA and allowing LNA to transfer weapons through Egypt-Libya border freely?
And UNSC again does not involve with Russia, or Egypt/South Africa/UAE for delivering arms and mercaneries (prior to the GNA's advances and Turkish involvement) to the LNA while the point of this arms embargo has been securing stability of the Libya since the beginning?
if so, is UN undirectly but obviously supporting a warlord, putschist leader Haftar by not interfering illegal arms transfer to the Libya through Egypt?

Lol 1 UAV has been shot down. They can be easily replaced and no one gets killed. However the LNA does not have a lot of migs and they can be shot down with SAM's.

LNA operates Pterodactyl II attack planes supplied by China. Pterodactyl II compared to TB2 is akin to Apache compared to ATAK. It's much bigger and more heavily armed. Most importantly it has SATCOM enabling to strike beyond 1000 km from airbase. TB2 at Mitiga airbase don't have the radio link range to reach Sirte.

TB-2 is classified as a Tactical class drone. Its cheaper to make and much easier to produce in comparison to MALE class drones such as Anka, Predators and Wing Long. The production capacity of TB-2 is litteraly 100 units per year, which means they can easely be replaced. The beauty is that not only is it easy and fast to produce but TB-2 in particular is so good that it has many MALE-like capabilities and systems. In others words it really doesnt matter how much TB-2's we lose, we can easely outproduce the amount we lose. God bless our defence industry.
