Despite Fast-Growing Economy, India Struggles to Create Jobs

.

True, as far as the Infrastructure sector is concerned. But the article simply covers only one sector, whereas there are different sectors that had flourished and created more jobs during the last 2 decades. That said, the growing population is the biggest problem and I personally don't see any serious efforts from any governments (both state and central) regarding controlling and gradually reducing it. :(

Especially in north India ,precisely BIMARU.Funds that needed for development is wasting because of ever increasing

low-end jobs for low-end people
13 million formal jobs in non-agricultural sectors were added in 2015 here.
I'm just wondering how many formal jobs have been created in India, whose population will soon surpass China's....Don't mention there are way more jobless youth entering the job market there....

I'm always amazed by india's economic growth without major job creation....(i mean formal jobs)
This might be the right way for developing countries to develop without benefiting from the so-called demographic dividend.

Formal job creation is one area where we lack. After the Tax and Monetary reforms, the next big reforms will be done in Land & labor sector., but these will be done only after Modi is reflected in 2019. War against corruption and Tax reforms is sucking up all the Political capital of the government

FDI in Industry will play a key part in this

Formal jobs also mean they have to comply with labor law such as minimum wage and social security, in China that is 5 insurances and one housing fund. It is a very complicated issue, not just one or two official reforms.

Labour laws are the only obstacle to create new formal jobs now. Most of the difficulties like complex Tax structure and regulatory framework have been simplified or are in the process of being simplified

Your thoughts are also simplified.

Indian gov should assign growth, infrastructure and productivity targets to each state separately. Divide and conquer approach should be followed in letter and spirit.

. .
Do explain more
Labor reforms and likes are just something in theory.
Jobs are not created by laws or some campaigns, but by competitive industries.
Same like salary increase, it should be in unity with productivity increase.
