But the N Korean nuclear issue is more between N Korean and US. As I understand it, N Korea will give up its Nuclear bombs if a peace threaty is sign. But US do not want to sign a peace threaty that would preserve the Kim regime. US wants a regime change. US also still maintain N Korea as one of the axis of evil. Not to mention the base in S Korea. Due to US hostile attitude towards N Korea, they develop the bomb to defend themselves. N Korea also only wants to talk to US but US is happy just to maintain the status quo.

The problem is that Russia won't sell S-400 to S Korea. Also, U.S. Military is deploying THAAD, not selling them.

nah Russia would love to get into the SK market. problem is the U.S military has already said it wouldn't integrate Russia weapon systems with our own.

S-400 could be a stand alone system and not be under the control of U.S command in SK in case of war with NK.

let's not forget SK and Russia has already worked together on a SAM system too

LOL. You must be joking. First of all. Vietnam has no S-400. And there are cheaper missiles, such as the super duper Brahmos, that is more suitable for this conversion.

Still，HQ-19 is NOT SC-19。

US threatening China in the SCS is a blessing in disguise for China.

China usually needs a crisis for it to take action. If the 1996 Taiwan crisis didn't happen, China would not have the military power it does now.

China has been incredibly reserved in its military modernisation so far. Hopefully the US threatening China will allow the perfect excuse for the CPC to get rid of all the liberal tree hugging hippies and get pro-military hardliners in there which will result in more spending on the military and military policy changes.

I hope the US continues to threaten China militarily, gives China the perfect justification for its military buildup.

The biggest obstacle for even faster military development is liberal CPC members that think military development is not important.
