you conveniently missed Kashmir and Khalistan .. there are also separatist movements in Manipur, Assam, Nagaland. Initially objective of the Dravidian parties was secession from Indian union.

i thought there is NO separatist forces in TN... that is why i did not compare it with Kashmir..

apart from the cultural / heritage factor - there's another issue - farmers survival and MNCs infiltration into the agricultural (dairy farming) sector.

When the ban was introduced in 2015 - only a handful protested which was subjected to PETA and Indians mockery

DMK abandoned indep in 1962 because India passed a law threatening to ban it. It is just outward show. In 1974 DMK minister asked US for support to declare indep. US refused

the corrupt Dravidian parties (family or Mannarkudi mafias) have deviated from their original objective. they will just use it as a gimmick to win votes.

A new political narrative and leadership is required and such a leader will emerge during challenging times.

Don't see Tamilnadu thru the Indian eyes, Tamils are culturally and racially different from Indians. Tamils had a strong cultural links with Far East and South East Asia. Thus naturally Tamils will be a strong ally to China
