Democracy Wins!

It is good to see your logic Agno. I am sure Gen. Musharraf can count on your support when he enter politics as he is no longer a military man.

That would depend upon the platform he runs on and what sorts of policy prescriptions and reforms he brings to the table to attempt to solve Pakistan's problems.

But yes, I would not hold his past against him provided I was convinced he would not subvert the constitution again.

Only when we have both those institutions, an independent judiciary and an independent NAB/FIA will we truly be able to pursue and apply justice effectively.

I agree 100%.

You live in the US and I live in Canada, both countries have very independent police, judiciary etc. These guys have not descended from heaven, however, they do get decent salaries and perks and that makes the difference.

CJP has enormous support which he can utilize to stabilize the financial structure of judiciary but again most of resources are consumed by the ongoing crisis, some of which could have been avoided.

We will never have a powerful and independent judiciary unless we have a powerful salary and perk structure. So far nothing has been done when it should have been one of the top priorities.

I hope CJP is able to meet expectations of his supporter otherwise that will be another disaster.

Good luck.

the mother of all deals 'CJ will respect article 248 on immunity of the president' and CJ will get all the 'judges' he wants - how long this lasts is 'anybody's guess'.

It's really not a deal, that is what the letter of the law states. The President has immunity from such prosecutions. However even if the individual can't be hunted down, the process ensures he remains subservient to public opinion.

The public DID make the mistake of electing him - this is the public's punishment which it MUST bear. The process has not failed. It's the simple computational processing formula - Garbage in, Garbage out.

Pakistan has bad democratic rulers but a fast improving democratic system. The public needs to improve as well and use the system to promote leaders that will work according to public opinion.

Please note that he wasn't elected by public but parliamentarians. And election under Mush was similar to the ones of election under MUA of BD and the Iraqi ones under the war party. See, sympathy votes based on BB's murder that atributted to PPP's victory was synoymous to the AWAMY victory of 'corrected voter lists and BNP's so-called wanton corruption'. Those were just veneering, masketeering real occuring AKA 'God's Act' by powerful & intelligent folks behind the scene IMO.

As wise people advised to do right thing at the right time, it was certainly not a ripe time for 'Democrative system' to improve by Pakistan's expence IMO. And finally people couldn't improve as their fates were sealed in pursuation of Darwinism by NWO fascists, to whom re-arranging the global map was more important than 1B poor Muslim's lives.
