Demand for change rocks Arab world

With situations like this there is bound to a political side. I guess that's what I'm asking. Who is organizing? who will take power if the government falls?

That is the reason for the West fears, continue a pro-Western regime, or an extreme anti-American regime such as Iran? It is disturbing to the West and Israel.

. . .
US has been paying Mubarak $2 billion/year to suppress democracy and play nice with Israel. Most of that money goes into Mubarak's bank account, not Egyptian economy.

He plays up the Islamist threat to keep the USD flowing and, ironically, his brutality only strengthens the underground resistance, which the Islamists exploit.

It's a repeat of 1970s Iran all over again...

.
If these protests are driven by religion, the US and Europe is screwed.[/QUOT]
Tunasian revolution happens due to unemployed youth and the Egypt is also the same, until now what we know . the islamist both in Tunisia and in Egypt are ban and the oppression happens so badly on islamist that is it possible for them to lead the mass uprising against the rulers is unthinkable . but yes you are right if the uprising fuel by the islamist the west are in trouble .

This is a very good thing. Democracy may be springing forth from a region Democracy has been said to be incompatible with (broadly).

Hopefully the current governments will give in to the necessary reforms to bring Democracy in, because if not there will be blood.

May the people break free of their bonds and use their newfound voice in a responsible and productive matter for themselves and the world at large.:yahoo:

Huh...have you EVER been to Iran?? or just made your opinion by seeing comments of some 'persions' on internet

Every revolution has negative effects dude.Iran do need improvement but c'mon ..shah was worse.
Today Iran is sending satellites in the space.Firing missiles of long ranges.Cloning artificial cows etc

Today Iran is the fastest growing country scientifically :agree:

I have been to Iran and can say with confidence that 95% of Iranians despise the current regime. I only ever met one individual during all the time I spent in various parts of Iran who had anything good to say about Ahmedinajad or Khamenei. Although I am not sure about how popular or otherwise the it was, my understanding is that despite being repressive, ordinary Iranians, especially women, enjoyed greater personal liberties under Pehlevi rule (as long as you did not mess with the regime of course)

wow, a revolution, now poverty, employment removed.
congratz Arab.
LOL.
