Muslim country means a Muslim majority country.....a country is a land mass which cannot take the shahadah and 'become' muslim!

A country does not become Muslim or Islamic in character because majority of its citizens are Muslim.

A country becomes Muslim or Islamic in character, if its Jurisprudence is based on Islamic Law.

By that standard very few countries can claim to Islamic in Character.

Maybe that is what the Gentleman was trying to point out.

I think it means the same thing. If you look at Bangladesh as a whole, then no.is alcohol banned?Does it follow shariah? so yes it is not a Muslim country but it has 90% Muslims living in it.

Give me an example of a muslim country,then!

i beg to differ .............in my book, a muslim country is a country where the constitution is based on islam....al the laws are islamic .............the slate religion is islam........

you dont call america a christian country even though they have a christian majority...............

United Kingdom is a Christian country as it has a state religion.US is not because it does not have a state religion.Bangladesh has a state religion too!

Muslim country refers to the country's outlook, not the people in it whether you like it or not. And how come shariah is not implemented if the majority is Muslim? how come there is no ban on alcohol if majority is Muslim? how can you consider that a Muslim country? there is a difference between self proclaiming Muslim and Muslim. The hujur will probably not consider me as a Muslim because i am not practicing and he'd be pretty darn right on that.

Those are western banks and as Saudi arabia is "FRIENDLY" with the west, it is not surprising. You will find Saudi Arabia to be one of the most corrupted nation in arab world but then again, it does follow more Islamic rules than us. As i said before, don't stack up country with people. You reject the orders of almighty as a whole if you are not implementing the correct laws. Not very far off the mark i'd say. And yes, i wouldn't have any problem agreeing to that but i never really researched to find it out. Muslim majority country, yes. Muslim country as a whole, not so yes
