ATM machines are everywhere on the streets. But few dare to steal the money from these ATM machines, because the cameras are also everywhere.

Same logic to the robot delivery.

Atm are in vicinity of bank and easy to monitor than these robots which have to travel large distances and cameras may not monitor them in every streets

come on, the thief put so much efforts to hide him/herself, only for some parcels? Why not targeting at the ATM machine for the Kgs of cash there??

In general, China is a country with very low crime rate. Partially due to the low unemployment rate, partially due to education, partially due to the technology-backed solution.

Lots of ATMs are stand alone.

If there is going to be stealing, the problem won't be technology, but the people who do stealing. Then comes laws and technologies to prevent such crimes.

But, as @GS Zhou said, China is a low-crime nation. Besides, few potential incidents won't overwrite the benefits of a technology innovation and the monetary gains associated with it.

China currently has behaviour recognition and action prediction technology. The software can identify a person by their gait and other traits independent of the face, in addition assess risk level based on their precursor actions/behaviours. It has already been successfully demonstrated with high levels of accuracy in tests. Where this is deployed, it has helped find lost children. Enter a search for particular traits like age, height, clothing, gender, etc and the software identifies matches within the linked network.

Hiding your face and walking around is enough to arouse suspicious in the first place. Not to mention, they are large number of CCTV in China. Even you run away and get into mall or building. There will still be CCTV to trace your whereabouts.

I guess the density is much lower. But, it all depends on the level of urbanization and development.

Now new services are first introduced in major areas and urban centers. And, in an urban setting, it is impossible in Mainland China (as well as in Taiwan) to not to be recorded by some CCTV some place.

Robots like these were used in some gov't buildings in D.C. a generation ago. They impressed visitors but didn't catch on and were abandoned after a few years because they decreased productivity: employees had to stop what they were doing and run out into the hall to pick up mail from the bell-ringing robot rather than have it delivered to their desks.
