Delhi woman raped by cab driver

NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a cab driver while returning home after completing her shift at a Gurgaon-based finance company, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday night after the woman boarded a cab provided by her company.

The driver, 44, allegedly offered a spiked drink to the woman. When she became unconscious, he raped her.

The woman, a resident of north Delhi's Inderlok area, regained consciousness on Saturday morning and realized that she had been raped.

She approached the Sarai Rohilla police station and lodged a complaint against the cab driver.

Police said they have identified the driver but he is still on the run.

Had a Pakistani pointed that out we would have been labeled but seriously the cab was provided by her company so who would have thought such an incident would have happened....

But yes women need to be more "cautious"

but companies that provide cab service to employees are supposed to provide a security guard within each cab, especially if ladies are to be dropped.

so the "human resources" department of her company is also at fault.

delhi area and bangalore are the most unsafe places for anyone.
