Delhi Public School bars Muslim teacher from wearing burqa, triggers huge controversy

I studied in a DPS.It is owned by a bunch congressis including former external affairs minister Salman Khurshid.
He used his MEA connections to donate fully govt paid DPS schools to countries like Afghanistan Bangladesh etc.

Why allow saree? it is linked to Hindu traditional attire. So why allow saree? why not some uniform dress code?

Yup they should come to schools wearing bikinis and panties. And for males only shorts. These are signs of progressive thinking

what other purpose? If I want to roam in Park without being noticed, if I am a known face and want to enjoy an ordinary trip to a hill station or if I want a peaceful lunch or coffee or cold drink with a friend without being noticed how does wearing veil in such cases is dangerous ?

I would stay rather at home than walk in park in a black tent especially in these hot geographies

Only if she can justify it. Because I do not know if the school has boys too and of what age level .

still if the school rules do not permit any such right then I would say she has to abide by the rules of keep her own stand firmly and resign. If the dress code is based on faith then the school has to ban kinds of religious symbols of all faiths. Otherwise if only discriminating against one then rules can be changed.

Thirdly if the students and their parents give their consent for her right to dress like that then well something could be done as well.

its impossible to argue with 'why' of the attire. its matter of opinion end of the day, I might say teacher with jeans and t-shirt is alright, you might disagree. She can always say its her religious duty to wear, and I doubt DPS will bring mullahs to arbitrate on the matter.

I agree with last part.... if parents agree, they should allow.

we literally have a village at the outskirts of Peshawar where this is practice by Muslim women. It is kind of a tradition. I remember when I was a kid we also used to see brides having sindoor even in the colony where I live. These women usually were from suburban villages who were wed with the local boys in my area.



In other words you are adamant to impose Hindu code on all faiths in India.

Totally strange I would say .
Even in our area Muslim or Christian womens wont use sindoor ,only Hindus .
Still they follow that tradition .Right ?

In our tradition Hindu women will use sindoor until death or until husbands death .
