A flawed measurement system. 14 days is too short to judge the commuter behavior. For every change not only it's first degree consequences should be monitored but the second and third degree changes as well.

E.g. The gas guzzling old crappy cars will kick in slowly and a slow upsurge in new cars sales can be expected.

What happens to car no. Plates ending with 0?

well delhi had some really really funny and clever trollers as there rulers one of its rulers even started leather made currency while some made it mandatory to use red chillies in every preparation lets wait and watch what has kajri begum to offer

in delhi right now 90% public useing ODD- EVEN formula

why are women exempted from this rule or kajri begum wants us to use wigs and start cross dressing

Sir few things to note

IMHO i nte the following prevalent conditions as of today.

1. School holidays upto 15th Jan implying almost ) or negligible School buses and related traffic
2. 1st Jan is the fag end of Dec-Jan Christmas to new year holiday. Today being Friday, ppl take holiday till Sat and Sun.
3. 14 is Makar Sankranti (Friday), 15th Pongal (saturday),16th Sunday
4. 2nd Jan and 3rd Jan being weekend Saturday and Sunday
5. 9th Jan and 10th Jan Being weekend Saturday and Sunday

Effectively over 15 days

1. Week ends are Jan 2,3,9,10,15 = 5 days
2. No school buses and parents commuting to drop their children traffic upto 15th Jan
3. 14th Jan - Holiday

Days left = 15- 6=9 days

With no school traffic, and 6 weekends with reduced traffic movement especially government employees, offices etc, effectively the measurements would result in a false impression of improvement in air quality

We should have tried in Delhi a full 3 months analysis to ascertain the significant impact

The present 15 day test will give results as good as a placebo effect as effectively this does not represent the real issues and extent of real traffic

0 is considered an even number for the case. In fact 0 is mathematically debated to be an even number.
However, in similar previous experiments the one's with number plates ending with 0 were not fined on odd number days since there was a confusion amongst masses about it.

my last two digits are 10 hence according to traffic police its and even number only 1,3,5,7&9 are odd while 9,2,4,6,8 are even

They normally read the last digit alone which would be 0 in your case and 0 being an even number hence grouped with 0,2,4,6,8. Either way you are not 'odd'

but i do feel this scheme should remain and be extended and private diesel vehicles should be allowed only on sundays while all vehicles using delhi as a bypass should be barred from entry in delhi
