Of course some Chinese soldiers surrendered to the Japanese, just like how some Japanese surrendered to the Chinese. Hell, if we want to base it off the prisoner of war count, you should know that 3.6 million Soviet soldiers surrendered to the Wehrmacht in less than six months.
And the Chinese soldiers treated the Indians extremely well. Had the PLA been like the Wehrmacht or even KPA, they would've tortured and starved their captives outright ... Indians should be very grateful for their captors. Without the Chinese generosity, many Indian POW's would've never returned home to their families ...
