I mean there are so many deals hanging why don't they sign it ? 22 Heavy attack chopper deal has got a winner but the deal hasn't been signed yet, M777 deal is also almost done but not signed yet, 197 light chopper deal could have been signed as trials were over in 2010 itself, basic trainer deal result is also out but no deal yet. I mean if they haven't negotiated the deal yet they can always spent money on the follow on orders. For follow on orders you don't have to do much work. Follow-on orders for C130j, P8i, C17, Mi17V5 and i think Phalcon if the follow on order for this awacs haven't been placed yet.

I'm inclined to agree with you. There are so many deals just waiting for signatures (you have mentioned most), if such an exact number can be calculated in how much unused budget there is surely a few big ticket deals can be squeezed in with accurate (and fairly simple) mathematics! Otherwise FY2012 could be a VERY expensive year with all of the above and other deals being placed with the list you have stated being close to $30 billion alone- of course big deals like these are not paid for p front but over a rather long period.

It's been said that this time of year sees the signing of many deals because of this exact issue.

Here's hoping!!

+ any idea of the unspent budget carries over to next FY??

India is looking to spend over $100 billion in defence procurements in the next five years with several big ticket items such as six conventional submarines and 126 Medium-Multirole Combat Aircraft (M-MRCA) to be procured by it.

Do anyone has idea about these proposed six conventional submarines which were being negotiated from Russia during last over 5 years and would be inducted in IN by 2014/15? I read these six conventional submarines are not part of Project75 for scorpion submarines or Project 75I for next generation stealth submarines also. these six conventional submarines would enter in service with IN at the time they will retire their old submarines and these six submarines will be the 'used' ones from Russia, which are intended to maintain fleet of 15+ submarines for IN until they get next gen submarines from other projects? Any source, info? :undecided:

Funny that they are not inducting this submarine in their fleet as it failed to many requirements of russian navy....so we ask for better one if there is.
