Bangladesh started it's defence industry since Pakistan era, when some defence factory was established. After independence it was started slowly. Now Bangladesh government had taken several steps to boost our defence industry. We have some defence company namely BOF ( Bangladesh ordnance factory), BMTF (Bangladesh machine tools factory), CDDL, Kulna ship yard, western marine shipyard etc. At present Bangladesh makes Assault rifles (BD-08, Type- 56, G3 & BD-08 LMG),BD14 Machine gun, FN-16 MANPADS, artillery shells, cartridges, Arunima Bolyan Utility & transport vehicles, mortar, Gren-84BD hand grenade, Type-59G Durjoy MBT,speed boats, patrol boats, tug boats, Shobuz bangla class Inshore patrol vessel, Padma Offshore patrol vessel, Durjoy class Large patrol craft, Durgam class anti submarine vessel etc. Bangladesh is also going to make GMLRS, Ballistic missiles, SAM, stealth Corvette & Frigate, antiship missiles ,air to air missile, etc. Some African country, Jordan, Maldives etc. give egarness to buy arms from Bangladesh.
