Defence Cooperation: Dhaka, Delhi sign deal

But "India's assistance in developing itself till it becomes so strong that India can be safely ignored(~2030)" argument is the refection of your low IQ.

Dude, I had more knowledge when I was 12 than you have now or ever will have.

You are an embarrassment to BD with your very low quality posts.

Your hard earned knowledge never supported you because of ur low IQ. Tragedy!

Since, we are already making these things ourselves, what's the need to buy from Indians who are only known to produce substandard 3rd rate products?

Because you are 5th rate country with 7th rate leaders and elite. Now open wide loser....like you did for 1 million rohingay.

Previously Bangladesh was economically weaker, but did not buy arms from India which was against our military doctrine. Now how will you explain it?

He is BAL creature...BAL means more than Bangladesh for him....they are his god now basically.

Anything BAL does, he will support like a dirty sockpuppet. It is disturbing for all normal people like you obviously who can properly see good and bad in every policy. Combine it with his full scale denial and just be thankful at least this one is suppsedly not located in BD (one less hyper-ventilating commie BAL-tard):

Indians will never be allowed anywhere near BD armed forces.

Too late. Just look at what Hagseena did to BD military leadership after she took over. You think no RAW instructions/help were given on it? :D It is why China will offer nothing worthwhile to BD ever....all key defence systems are given dressing down by the "RAW" truth present BD "military". @Chinese-Dragon

More like the 500 mil are being invested in Khulna shipyard in designing and manufacturing commercial vessels in corporation of a shipyard from Kolkata...
As Bangladesh Navy owns the shipyard... the deal is being termed as defense deal from last year....
Air Force stalled twin jet purchase from Russia and the 500 mill credit deal got halted by default.

.
That's bullshit man. Markets of Nepal and Bhutan are not that big that India would have a leverage on Bangladesh. Rather India itself is dependent on Bangladesh for easier access to its Northeast states.

True that but BD needs India to import huge quantities of electricity from Nepal, Bhutan and India itself.
We are looking at paying reduced prices compared to generating this power in BD and getting it quicker as well.

While India is dependent on BD for access to NE, BD needs to step a fine line as it is yet not strong enough to force India to treat it as an equal. Like I say circa 2030 India will be told where to go if it displeases BD.

I think we can buy non-sensitive, non-combat defense items with their credit - like (as already mentioned)

- Coast-guard boats (but probably not made in Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers in Kolkata, fabrication at Mazagon Dock Limited Mumbai and Goa Shipyard Limited, Vasco da Gama, Goa or combinations thereof are okay, Reliance and Pipavav Shipyard is good too. We have to dictate the design per CCS standard. Similar to the Project 2100 class being made for their coast guard by Reliance Defence but minus armaments - to be integrated in our yards,

- 8X8 TEL launcher trucks (Tatra as well as other heavy Russian vehicles assembled by Bharat Earth Movers or BEML)
- other infrastructural items like pontoon layers etc.

We need to bargain hard - they will try to push their useless PSU's which are relatively non-efficient - like GRSE.

Is there ant sting attached to this 500 million of buying stuff from India? Previous report suggested that, this money would be use to buy Russian fighter jet.

I know what you mean. Point is, we accepted the LOC and we have to use it. As the deal requires us to purchase from them, we will have to under the pretext that we are fulfilling our side of the promise. Strategic and crucial purchases will not happen and that is very obvious. We know it, Indians know it. They tried twice before and failed.

Hence the only option is to buy these small/non-strategic articles from them. It's not a big deal so might as well do it to keep them happy. Hasina probably wouldn't want to disappoint them just before elections. That's my take.

WAHOOO WE ARE GETING THE LCA TEJAS :) OR A NUKE SUB

Bangladesh can also use a “certain percentage” of the $500 million line of credit to buy weapons from countries other than India subject to India's approval, the official added.
@Bilal9, @BDforever,
What we will get from this slavery ? Why we shall have to buy equipment from india only, and also if we can buy from other countries, then why we need Indian approval? What is the meaning of such agreement ?
Request your sensible opinion brothers. Thanks in advance.

BD is now growing at "Tiger" economy rates and needs India's assistance in developing itself till it becomes so strong that India can be safely ignored(~2030).
So "Tiger" needs to be a slave of his master, I am convinced.
However is BAL going to make BD as the pet "Tiger" of India ?
Buy from india if it's necessary , but why the heck such thing that we need to buy only India made garbage equipments ,and if we can buy some equipment from other countries then we must need the permission from india?
Are we really vessel state of India? Here money isn't a big factor, the real problem is the nature of this agreement.

1. Indian approval only extend to this credit loan.
2. With this opportunity, we must get the Brahmos missile to know its' threat capability ;)
3. When it comes to loan usually you have to buy from lender, so nothing new.
4. we can also buy some patrol ships for Coast Guard.

Woops kon ki bhai, Eita to mathay ase nai amader Karo!
But yes if this is the reality then I have no problem buying equipment from them. But I encourage to buy more:blah:.

Finally again you showed that your line of thinking is completely different than others, so I am glad that not only enemies are here but amader Nijeder lok o ache, hehe so we are not alone .
That's really good sign.

Bangladesh is champion of not properly utilizing LOC or foreign development funds or whatever. These signings remains on paper. If only half was actually implemented :disagree:
Anyway there will be never shortage of smaller patrol boats, trucks, spare parts etc.
Armed forces can make some overhauling facilities with these funds. Mig 29 or whatever Russians are coming. There will be never any sophisticated weapons transferred from India to its immediate neighbors. It makes sense to not hope for any. Seeing its neighbors are toothless is more pleasurable for India. I dont mind if some cheap T 72 tanks are transferred though. But no big ships. It will always try to shove bulky pricey ships like Saryu class with some automated guns.
India is actually a big child in the room with ever increasing demands. It needs to be silenced with some lollies. It saw China selling weapons, so it needs to sell too. It saw others are sending giant satellites in the space, so it aspires to send too. It has no capabilities but do this only to boast. Lol

I think other than 1500 ton plus blue water vessel, we have so far made everything locally in our Naval and private yards and those are all either equal or better quality than in India. Only a handful of yards have newer/larger/better facilities so far in India (Pipavav and Reliance Defence comes to mind). And that is fast changing in Bangladesh too - because of our indigenous frigate program. Buying even non-military Coast Guard vessels from India wouldn't be my first choice.

If Indians want to give us a US$ 500 Million - you cannot really look a gift horse in the mouth. But we should choose what we buy...and that too on basic low-tech items like trucks, construction equipment etc.

And I don't think Brahmos is on their 'selling' list. Even if it was - should we get it? :-)

And remember - this is a 'line of credit' - there is interest and you do have to pay it back. This is a win for India only.

I don't know why they gave us the line of credit. If this was to exert some influence on our dealings with them vis-a-vis China, it won't change how things are at this juncture.
