Budget allocation of Rs 100 cr for Ladakh and Rs 150 cr for Jammu for implementation of projects identified by taskforce.

yesterday there was news on new emblem chose by ladakh autonomus region which resembles the chakra of the nation , now we are spending a considerable amount in Jammu and Ladakh , even railway budget had projects opened in that state.

We are doing a good job "now" to integrate these areas into main steam, which is a positive sign and an eye opener for the "rest" of the region..

I second that, but in case of the 'rest', we have to do such things thru the local govt.

Else they absorb what we give without any credit to the centre.

The best announcement so far IMO is the farm loan ..announcing loans at an interest rate of 4 per cent, 3 per cent less than the market rate, for farmers who pay their dues in time.

An agriculturally self sufficient nation is twice as strong..

IN USD terms this years Indian defence budget will be $36.5 Billion... Which is aprox 2.5% of GDP..considering nominal GDP = $1.43Trillion.

I dont like where this thing is going. We are increasing defence budgets at an unprecedented rate instead of focusing on the core issues that plague our community. Sure, i feel proud whenever india makes a mark on the world stage but i have a feeling this wont end well. Sometimes, our critics are the best guides. They highlight every flaw in our system. We "need" to focus on the poor and the disadvantaged and grow together as ONE INDIA.

There used to be a very peaceful country in our neighborhood that chose to neglect its security and concentrate on its core issues...Last time i heard citizens of that nation are now minority in their own country. I guess you would not want to be a citizen of a country like that..

Thats ~$ 36 billion. The increase is almost same as our GDP growth. But they need to buy more and more indigenous staffs and invest on R&D.
