Yep it seems everyone here (apart from the Indians of course) figured that France would do anything to avoid ToT.

Why would they destroy their own business model by giving all the tech and knowledge to their customers? It never made any sense, and even if they did give away tech, it would be the older tech (not their cutting edge stuff).

India is lucky here though. If France is squeezing this much in peace time, imagine how much they would squeeze if India ever got in a war.

I would agree with you MK. Everytime I've read your post and a few others', whether I agree with it or not, I do realize and see great knowledge, experience, professionalism and a solid argument. And from that point on, we could love each other or disagree with each other but its all within respectful means. Similarly, the posters who bring wealth of knowledge (like yourself) to the table, should be involved in some discussions.

I don't think any of us make money out of here (in fact it takes a lot of time), but its the topics and our passion about certain topics that we like to write about. The more professional content, the better the discussion and an overall healthier experience.

that is the least of the worries----. F4 phantom had an under powered engine---and so did the F 14 Tomcat----.

Under powered engine is no worry at all in this BVR heavy environment and if there is HOBS capability as well----you can fly a brick and that will destroy the enemy.

Point is JF is underpowered at the moment and on top of that its RD 93.

JF 17 cant reach its full potencial unless it gets more powerful engine.

TOT is not in the best interest of France because the whole point is to make more money in the future not to teach Indians how to make fighters.

DRDO will not be able to make fighters even with 100% TOT so don't worry about that.

I personally think the DRDO needs to partner up with the US and Israel, send their scientists there to assist with some projects, and then bring that knowledge home to start working and actually delivering stuff. Right now, its taking 20-30 years for some projects to get done and that with still work needing to be done. And at the end, when its the most difficult to fix something close to finish, you are involving expensive US and Israeli consultants. If you do this before or when you start a project, it would be much beneficial to the Indian tax payers.

These things will work if the DRDO had people with basic qualifications working for them.

DRDO is a government organisation and like all things sarkari in India DRDO sucks. The scientists have no knowledge on the projects they work. It took arjun 40 years and they are still working on it, tejas took 30 years and they are still working on it, the prototype for 155 mm arty gun is yet to be tested, INSAS is a joke. And the latest fiasco is this chakra rath, the Indian version of BMP.

DRDO employees get their jobs by paying bribes or by pulling strings and using their contacts. An American high school science student will design a better tank engine than these jokers at DRDO. The BMP Chakra Rath is evidence enough.

Two people cutting the red light, doesn't mean the first one gets a ticket. You live here, you know both people violated the rules and the law. So please help me understand, WHY did you not give the other person negative rating as well? He used some seriously sick language.....
