Deadly India train accident kills 91

.
I don't know how much India is spending on its railways but it seems 100 billion USD a year is an appropriate figure considering the age and size of Indian railways.

And annual investment of 100 billion USD should last for at least 20 years.

.
How long before this is blamed on Pakistan ? 1 week , 2 week

or have they already blamed Pakistan

Should India focus on upgrading and improving the existing system before even thinking about bullet trains?

More than 2000 people were on that train?! That's FOUR TIMES the designed capacity!!!

At this time, we don't know if there were any passengers on the roof of carriages that were uncounted for.

Who has that kind of money?

RIP our dead. Its a shock whenever it happens. And it invariably happens in the early hours of the morning. When everyone is mercifully asleep.

Its a horrible reality of rail travel in India. Especially this sector sees one major accident every 4-5 years. Nothing beats the romance of long distance travel by train. The sound of the wheels on the tracks and the sound of rain on metal chajjas are my two comfort memories and cosy sleep sounds.

At this time, we don't know if there were any passengers on the roof of carriages that were uncounted for.

Are you trolling? It is nearly winter here. This is north India. This train was traveling upward of 100 kmph. No one travels on roofs of trains like this. I think you have been watching too many movies.

Any mention of what the speed of the train was when it derailed?

Yes, 100 billion dollars at least per year for upgrading existing railways, lasting at least 2 decades.
Fair number, not really big.
