Deadliest attack: US drone strike kills 15 in North Waziristan

MIRAMSHAH: Four missiles fired from a US drone killed at least 15 people in Mir Ali town in North Waziristan Agency on Monday – the third drone strike in three days and the deadliest this year, intelligence officials said.


There has been a dramatic increase in drone strikes in Pakistan since a Nato summit in Chicago ended two weeks ago without a deal on the vital Nato supply lines.

Security officials said two missiles slammed into a compound in Esokhel village, east of Miramshah, the capital of North Waziristan, before dawn. It brought the death toll from drone attacks in Pakistan in the past three days to 27.

A security official said there were confirmed reports that foreigners were among the dead. “I don’t know how many foreign militants were killed but we are sure that foreigners were among the dead,” he added.
According to a witness, the compound was razed to the ground and the bodies of victims were immediately buried after being pulled out from the rubble.

“I didn’t go near the house as I avoid going near locations where drone strikes take place,” the witness said, adding that in the debris, locals found letterheads of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), wooden beds, blankets and mattresses.

It was the third strike in consecutive three days in the region. Eight drone strikes have been reported in tribal regions since May 23, the same number as in the previous four months, and Monday’s was the deadliest since 18 TTP members were reported killed on November 16, 2011.

The London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism has said that under President Barack Obama one drone strike has hit Pakistan on average every four days.

It said most of the 2,292 to 2,863 people reported to have died were low-ranking militants, but that only 126 fighters had been named.

It said it had credible reports of 385 to 775 civilians being killed, including 164 to 168 children. (With Additional input from AFP)

this type of killing of people of a developing country like vegetables would be called the biggest crime have been committed in the human history for last 8-9 years. voters and tax payers of NATO countries must get to know what their elected democratic governments are doing in another country. dropping bombs from sky without any proper idea on whom they exactly drop these bombs? there is a difference between fighting in a battlefield as compare to dropping bombs on the residential areas of Afghan. US/West just can't justify it good, even if they might be scoring 3-4 militants while dropping bombs from sky on all those 15-16 innocents also who might be sitting with them, including family members of these Taliban Fighters

voters of NATO countries must change their governments who are committing this type of crimes in Afghan. they must get to know whom they voted and fund by taxes to do this type of activities in other countries. will they chose the same governments in NATO countries if these drones will do the similar things with the Western people by dropping bomb on them from sky? then why do they want their democratic governments to do this type of things with Afghan people, they voted for and fund by taxes also? and this way, how Afghan people will be wrong if they will also do the similar type of bombing on these voters and tax payers of NATO countries??????????

We will stay for quite some time. Drone campaign will only intensify in the next months. Now Italian UAV's got clearance to launch weapons together with US & UK ones.
Also if you believe after 2014 this is gonna stop (UAV campaign) i have some ocean view property in Switzerland to sell to you.
