Twenty-five years ago, with Daya Bay Unit 2 completed and put into operation, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station was fully commercialized and became the first million kilowatt commercial nuclear power plant in China. Starting from the “high starting point” of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. has embarked on a road of independent development of nuclear power, “introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation”, and explored a safe, economic and scientific nuclear power specialization operation plan, which has effectively promoted China's nuclear power technology and management continue to innovate, creating a national business card "Hualong No.1".

The WANO (World Nuclear Operators Association) indicator is an important indicator of the international level of nuclear power safety. In 2018, among the 72 WANO indicators of 6 units in the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base, 54 indicators reached the world's top 1/4 of the advanced level, 49 of which reached the world's top 1/10 level of excellence, with an outstanding rate of 68%.
On March 28, 2019, in the world's nuclear power industry authority evaluation - France Power Group Security Performance Challenge, Daya Bay nuclear power base won the first "capability factor" for 11 consecutive years, the cumulative number of champions increased to 39, accounting for More than half of the total number of championships.
As of May 6, the No. 1 unit of Lingao Phase I had no planned shutdown for 14 consecutive years, achieving a continuous safe operation of 4,729 days, which created the highest number of consecutive safe operation days of the same type of international units. The record is still in progress.
According to statistics from December 31, 2018, the accumulated electricity consumption of the Daya Bay nuclear power plant was 350.861 billion kWh, of which the total power supply to Hong Kong reached 248.818 billion kWh, meeting one quarter of its electricity demand. The 6 units of the entire Daya Bay nuclear power base accumulated 709.48 billion kWh of electricity during the same period. Compared with the same-scale coal-fired power station, the total consumption of standard coal was about 219 million tons, reducing the emission of carbon dioxide to the environment by about 574 million tons. About 1.6 million hectares of forest were planted. The long-term tracking and monitoring data of 10 environmental monitoring stations within the radius of 10 km of the base showed that the environmental radioactivity level in the surrounding area of the base did not change compared with the local data before the operation of the power station, and the number of terrestrial and marine living populations in the area did not change. 大亚湾核电站历时近7年建设,于1994年5月6日建成投产,实现了我国大陆大型商用核电站零的突破,随后又于2003年1月8日建成岭澳核电站一期,并通过持续创新,采用自主品牌核电技术CPR1000,于2011年8月建成岭澳二期。至此,大亚湾核电基地拥有6台百万千瓦级核电机组,成为全球最大的轻水压水堆核电基地。从引进设备、技术和管理,到实现自主设计、自主制造、自主建设、自主运营;从国际核电大家庭的“小学生”,到工程建设、运营管理业绩跻身国际先进行列,大亚湾核电站闯出了一条核电发展“高起点起步、引进、消化、吸收、再创新”的成功之路。
自首台机组投入商业运行以来,大亚湾核电站一直保持安全稳定运行,安全运营业绩优于国际先进水平,近年来稳步保持在国际第一方阵。

2019年3月28日,在世界核电领域权威评比——法国电力集团安全业绩挑战赛中,大亚湾核电基地连续11年夺得“能力因子”第一名,累计冠军数增加到39项,占该项赛事冠军总数的一半以上。
截至5月6日,岭澳一期1号机组连续14年无非计划停堆,实现连续安全运行4729天,创造了国际同类型机组连续安全运行天数的最高纪录,目前该纪录还在延续中。
统计到2018年12月31日的数据显示,大亚湾核电站累计上网电量3508.61亿度,其中对港供电累计达2488.18亿度,满足其1/4的电力需求。而整个大亚湾核电基地的6台机组,同期累计上网电量达7098.48亿度,与同等规模的燃煤电站相比,累计少消耗标煤约2.19亿吨,减少向环境排放二氧化碳约5.74亿吨,相当于种植了约160万公顷森林。基地10公里半径范围内10个环境监测站点长期跟踪监测数据显示,基地周边地区的环境放射性水平与电站运行前的本地数据相比没有发生变化,区域内陆地、海洋生物种群数量没有发生变化。(记者 陈颖)
