Do they receive funding from the US?

no specific report about DAWN but US official documents in past have mention about funding in Pakistani Media in general
but their ties with US is very evident as the following pic was issued by US embassy after the DAWN leaks and strong 'rumours' of Hameed Haroon arrest were circulating in Islamabad

No other country allows such rotten eggs. Turkey, China, UAE, KSA, Iran, Bd, India, Russia, USA, UK, France all eliminate such anti-state actors. But we for some inexplicable reasons try to be the good boy.. the same good boy who gets friend zoned

The reasons are twofold:
1.) a handful of about 10 top people in all institutions are almost always on the American payroll; this means a few key Generals (minimum), Ministers, often the PM/President himself, etc. (the reasons vary from blackmail --- as the US intelligence community has access to all their corruption/sex scandals --- to pure greed)

2.) truly not having the vision, balls and audacity to do what's necessary

I have concluded this after lengthy interactions with many of those who matter.
