Data link capability of IAF

Russian TKS-2 which comes native with Sukhois has 4.7 kbps speed. Link 16 has as the name suggests. 16 kbps.
How does TKS-2 cater for data and voice coms with such low bandwidth. Or is my info flawed?

@Dillinger
Yes with mention of ODL. It is making sense now.

We don't use Russian data-links on the MKIs. Or even the IN's migs.

^^^ Load of bull.
There is no cross platform communication in IAF. Phalcons cannot talk to Sukhoi directly, . Sukhoi can talk to each other though.
Thats why thay made this ground network,transmitting data to different platforms via ground stations.
I searched and failed to find any evidence of what you say. But if you have links,plz post.
When you have so much "load of bull" in your head, why do you ask people. Keep your filthy mouth shut.

Airborne Datalinks and Networks – the Russians have long been users of digital datalinks, primarily for GCI and AWACS support of interceptors. During the 1990s they invested heavily in intraflight datalink technology intended to network flights of fighters, and the TKS-2 system currently exported on Flankers provides the capability to share sensor data between multiple aircraft. The Russians are now offering an equivalent to the JTIDS/Link-16 system on their latest fighters. What advantage the US and EU retain in this technology is primarily in the maturity of software and protocol designs, another gap which will not last.

PAF does not have access to F-16's comm. gear source codes, neither do most nations which employ it. This of course does not mean that the PAF cannot and will not develop alternate comm. measures, as it has in the past.
PAF by contract is not supposed to open or make changes to certain components of F-16.
Thats why for compatibility with link 16 tweaks were made in ZDK-03 not F-16.

It says here that AWACS is sold with "Customer specified" data links. That pretty much answers the original queztion. IAF must have given Israelis certain parimeters to make Phalcon comparable with their jets.
I am guessing same thing happened with zdk-03 and PAF F-16 and claims that both are not compatible are wrong.
