Dasu dam: Chinese firm fails to secure WB approval for project bidding

I'm not quite sure, but I doubt India would interfere with projects in Azad kashmir, regardless of how large it's vote share is.
We already have. We ensured your financing proposal from either WB in P o K for building a dam was blocked .

On the other hand, it is generally believed that India has informally communicated its objection to Bhasha dam to the World Bank and for this reason the bank has not engaged itself in the project. Friendly lenders believe that if that is the case then the “bank management has not followed its operational policy on disputed territories”, an issue that needs to be addressed by US and other leading nations.

I cannot post links yet. Apologies.

I thought we were talking about AIIB, not the world bank.

Indeed.
Just that India has already started using its increasing global clout in international institutions against Pakistan. So the precedent of will is there.

The effectiveness of this course of action is patchy (at best) though it is still better than being the non-entity that India was till even a decade ago in international fora.

So I was wondering whether India would be able to do something similar in AIIB or not. I personally doubt it, since China wields a much bigger voting share than us which is not the case in other financial institutions like WB or ADB.

It isn't just that China has a bigger voting share, AIIB is China's personal vendetta against the US refusal to allow China to have a greater say in other international financial institutions. AIIB is practically controlled by China, just as the US practically controls the WB, IMF and a few other major institutions.
