I wonder why people start grabbing stick and puke at other butt without realizing they themselves have equal if not more problem to solve. Is this what a keyboard warrior do? Then you have a person replying to them with fact & figure without realizing they already move on to another butt for the same reason.... truly amazing!

C'mon guy, China isn't perfect neither you. So instead of picking on someone nose, isn't it better for you to realize your own third world mentality and start fixing your shits

Humans are essentially all equal in ability. They are separated by political systems, and their societal conditions, as well as their historical conditions.

One biggest trump card of globalization is that capital is extremely mobile, and every one wants capital, especially the developing countries. An investor wants returns. Hence, he will be much tempted to invest in places where income is 1000 dollars because with right policies they can easily rise to 5000 dollars and give him heavy returns.

I am not arguing that you should keep the low wage laborers. What I'm just saying is that Human resources are the biggest resource of any nation in the world.

Not every human being can be called human resources.

What you've said is so typical here. In China we call it 五十步笑百步（those who retreat fifty paces laugh at those who retreat a hundred paces). It's so easy to pick up weakness of others rather than look at themselves.

Not every human being can be called human resources.

Agreed, the ones above 50 can't be called. Children also won't contribute, but they have future returns on investments. Disabled may also not be able to contribute.

Any other person who can do economic activity is by definition a resource.

If that resource is properly trained, you can extract more out of that resource. But humans have a limit.

And those who has no work ethic cannot be called, those who has no social morality cannot be called. Just see the major destinations of labor-intensive industries from China. They will mostly choose ASEAN where human resources are real human resources.

Work Ethic comes under the heading of productivity of human resource. Of course productivity depends on work ethic, training, skill etc.

Also because people there are much more productive, disciplinary and educated. And their domestic market is much more powerful.

50 was a random number to present the concept. It will depend on the individual as well. Just consider those people who don't engage in economic activity.

question is can a one child policy child handle taking care of so many elderly. that's a lot of burden for a only child. back in the day that might of been feasible but in the future...eeh you gotta wonder.

Chinese culture tends to spend money differently than American culture. In American culture, it is perfectly acceptable to live from pay check to pay check and take on large sum of loans and mortgages. In Chinese culture, people tends to post-phone purchases unless they can pay up front or at least a very large (80%+) down payment. The net result is that Chinese family tends to end up large amount of savings by the time of retirement.

No need to worry about pollution, no country is free from this problem at the developing phase. We are suffering from that, but in the same time we have laid the solid foundation for the future.
If I see blue sky everyday in Wuhan, that's the real problem. The most serious problem is not in China, but in India which has the most polluted cities at the very beginning of industrialisation, what will happen to India if Modi fulfils his steel dream? @Bussard Ramjet

I agree, havng been to India and China myself i can attest to this. Its quite surprising that India is more poluted than China, even though India is nowhere near as industrialized as China. Its really shocking, i cant really find a credible explanation for this to be honest. I dont know how India will cope when/if it really starts industrialising big time like China. India has much work to do, since it hasnt even started building its cities at all unlike China(i was shocked to see 3rd and 4th tier cities in China are more developed than Delhi). So still a long way to go for tIndia i must say, but im optimistic, at least it means India also has alot of potential/room for growth if it gets its act together.

Once my Indian friend who is working near Shanghai told me he would like to travel to Beijing. I said he should avoid sandstorm in the spring or check the AQI APP before going to Beijing. But he responded, air pollution was not a problem for Indians...
The pollution in China is of course very serious. But it can be managed, we have tested before( like APEC in Beijing). Beijing is geographically surrounded by Hebei Province where most steel(at least 60%) and cement is produced.

I sincere welcome Modi's dream of India being number one in steel. And meanwhile China must focus on upgrading economic structure.
