Dams being built by India on River Indus pose danger to N Areas, Basha Dam, KKH

Its flowing towards Pakistan. So wanna try??:victory:

Engineering should definitely be there to control the flow. Bombing is a good idea, as it threatens the life of the millions of people. But this needs to be researched well.

Wth? The neutral expert says that India has not broken the treaty, so what's the problem?

.
We don't have to, Kashmir will never be a part of India even if you send a million troops to supress its freedom. Your hindu governments will do the rest.
If you think India or Kashmir is immune to global awakening of muslims then you're being naive.

You mean radicalization and destruction of Kashmiri society for your own narrow purposes. But never mind.

Bad Idea... there will be 2 or 3 times stronger dams or some other constructions will be needed for stop the high flow of water. It will cost much more than you expect.

.
Well you said it, do it in your own land and we can live with it. Kashmir is a disputed territory, your activities are illegal and designed to harm Pakistan.

Hmm. So I guess till the Kashmir dispute is resolved, India should stop building irrigation and power projects for Kashmiris, and bring development to a halt.

This is very amusing! The article talks about the dire consequences for some parts of pakistan if the dams collapse. And here we have multiple pakistani members pushing for SSG action to blow up the dams!! What the hell! Did u guys even read the article?

I still think it will be worth it. It seems like a very long term, and as well as short term solution.

However, i doubt that Pakistan currently has any idea of spending that much unless things go really worst between the two countries.

... :rolleyes:follow the discussion that is going through, and then post something intelligent instead of making stupid assumptions.

Indus is life line of Pakistan and should be our top priority. We can't trust India when it comes to water, we've seen it in the Chenab affair and its happening again.

Since India is in violation of the IWT why don't we sabotage the projects and keep doing that till UN intervenes?

You have tried your best. And failed!

Come, we are ready. Please do consider the consequences thoroughly. Do not assume there will be no payback.

You saw what happened in 1965, 71, Kargill. What makes you think this will be any better?

.
I have said many times before, that this action by Bharat is a conspiracy to destabilise pakistan, as the provinces will start fighting over the little water that is left.

What are the options? take the fight to kashmir? run to the world bank again?

You have tried all that for decades. At least think of something new. ;)

If you think India or Kashmir is immune to global awakening of muslims then you're being naive.

What is the awakening that you talk of?

Is it a reference to 9/11 and the 11,000 terror attacks after that? Is it a reference to the thousands that have been killed right inside Pakistan (Ironically Pakistan claims to be a victim of that awakening!), the Taliban, the Hamas, the Hizbollahs?

What exactly is the awakening?

Do you expect some of these "awakened Muslims" to achieve for you what your 600,000 strong PA that has nuclear weapons, has hogged the nation's resources, domestic and foreign polity and is the self appointed custodian of the ideology of Pakistan, could not achieve in 60 years?

How so! If those handfuls of "awakened Muslims" can really do that then somebody was really incompetent all these decades!

It is a well known fact that the world's most populous democracy (to use a well worn phrase) has absolutely no regard for international law, institutions, treaties nor does she seek to resolve any dispute with Pakistan amicably.

Her obsession with weakining Pakistan, leaving no stone unturned, and at whatever cost, will not let her make any rational decisions with regard to the water dispute.

They understand one language only. Laaton kay bhoot, bataon say nahin mantay.

Shyt, all the while we were thinking the same thing of some others!

.
I think it would be both cheaper and easier to just blast the dams with whatever ordnance that we have. How many times can Bharat afford to rebuild these mega expensive dams?

I think you think wrong!

You have no idea what you are talking of. India would need to just open the floodgates and guess what will happen. Who will be to blame in that case?

You are way overestimating your capability as you have always done with disastrous consequences.

.
For your information, water treaties are usually based on economic and life dependency of the affected area's only, not the whole country or region. If the treaty is renewd in near future, Pakistan would get lion's share in water management as per international laws.

I think India did not adequately consider the needs of Rajasthan in the original treaty. The IGC proves that the desert of Rajasthan can be developed if adequate water is made available.

If it is renewed, we would make sure that we don't give away too much like the last time. The needs of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Delhi, Rajasthan all need to be taken care adequately.

It can't be on the basis of the more developed irrigation infrastructure that the British left behind in Western Punjab anymore.

.
Controlled underground nuclear explosions for engineering purpose only. It would require sub kiloton yield and we've tested that.

Sirjee, in which age are you living?

This idea was found to be unworkable and abandoned decades back. No one has ever tried it!

In any case and assuming that it can be done, there is no way in hell it can be done in India by Pakistan. I doubt you can even do it in Pakistan given that you can't even construct the Kalabagh dam there after decades!
