Who said nothing about the motive of the attack. It is impossible and even illegal to ascertain that. That's the court's job.
Court's job is to judge if the accused are guilty or not. Motive and evidence are collected by the investigating agencies - in this case the police.
Do we know the caste of the assailants?
It is illegal for the DSP to ascertain the motive. I don't know about your state, but it is law here in India.
Given in the report. Finding a motive for a criminal act does not amount to any criminal activity, neither does speculation for a motive. It is not illegal. It is their job. After all, the courts decide if the motivation speculated is supported by the evidence collected. Anywho the cops have CCTV footage of the whole incident.

yes, and ranvir sena is not a terrorist group. Dont spread BS Communist propaganda
Ranvir Sena is a terrorist gang.

"The Ranvir Sena have been connected to a number of massacres includingLaxmanpur Bathe.[1] It has, on several occasions, been accused of human rights abuses.[2] It is regarded as a terrorist group and classified accordingly by the Government of India.[3] Normally, the group openly claims responsibility for its crimes.[1] The Ranvir Sena has committed violent acts against Naxalite sympathisers and other members of the militant communist party. The Bihar State government banned the Ranvir Sena in July 1995 and since then the Ranvir Sena remains proscribed. A statue of ranvir baba is situated in belaur village. On 8 October ranvir jayanti is celebrated in the village."

ps: If you are member of that gang, better get out fast!

Incorrect. The DSP can't point out the motive on the day of the crime. Unless he is Rajnikanth.
The crime was committed, the case is open and shut. But it need not be a Dalit oppression case.

It is a terror group. Legally as well as morally.

Of course, the cops can. It is their job. Show me where does it say that the motive cannot be pointed out by the investigating agency?
Its not a dalit oppression case, but more like a hate crime, if one would call it that.

Nope. Police can suspect the motive and the crime. Unless they prove it in court it remains an opinion. The Government as a Prosecutor will try to prove it. I have had to run several errands to the courts of law - many many times. They can't unilaterally pronounce who is guilty and who is not and the motives on Day 1. If they could, there would be no need for Courts.

I repeat, that is deliberate misreporting. The Hindu is notorious for adding corrigendum in a small place in their papers. The DSP can only state the charges filed and the claim of the prosecution. The prosecution claims that he was killed for a ringtone.

You're mixing FIR with charge sheet alias final police report, former is an initial report which contains compliant registered by the complainant and latter is a document made post investigation which contains findings, witnesses account, affidavits and stuff. Complainant is all entitled to get complaint registered in his/her way, unless FIR is sealed press/media/concerned parties have access to information registered in FIR.

This would help you understand what information needs to be provided in charge sheet or final report.

SALIENT FEATURES TO BE REMEMBERED WHILE PREPARING FINAL FORM / REPORT (I.F. 5) (i). The name of the court shall be indicated. (ii). The final report / charge sheet number should be given serially. (iii). Sections and Acts shall be clearly mentioned. (iv). The type of final report such as charge-sheet, untraced, mistake of fact, etc shall be clearly indicated. (v). Name(s) of the investigating officer shall be furnished (vi). Details of things / properties seized shall be properly accounted and sent in the prescribed list. (vii). Particulars of accused persons shall be furnished a separate sheet must be used for each accused. (viii). Status of the accused such as bail, absconding, forwarded, etc., shall be mentioned. (ix). Particulars of the accused persons not charged shall also be furnished. (x). The number of RCS notice / complainant notice shall be mentioned. (xi). List of witnesses to be examined shall be furnished. (xii). If the case is a false one, indication about the proposal to take action under section 182 / 211 IPC should be made. (xiii). Yes, that is fine. But that is not officially the motive unless proved in a Court of Law. Plus Pondicherry is governed under slightly different rules as it comes under the UT jurisdiction. Before establishing it it remains a matter of speculation. A variety of reasons can trigger a beer hall brawl(this was an alcohol shop).

'Complainant is all entitled to get complaint registered in his/her way'
Even here the complainant's side is put on paper. Check above...(italics).

There's a difference between a motive and alleged motive. Look, police is the fundamental unit of criminal justice system. The prosecution depends on the investigation conducted by police.

Okay tell me on what basis will the court decide the motive behind the act?

That was pretty obvious.
Why "low caste" hate Ranvir Sena? Because they slaughtered innocent peoples in Bihar and that's why they are terrorists.
The root problem lies with the entire social structure of Bihar. These outfits are simply a manifestation of the same.

They are dealt accordingly as soon as they are discovered.

Exactly. That's what I am trying to say to you. Speculating a motive doesn't mean someone's guilty of a crime. The courts decide that.
