-Shyam Singh, a Dalit resident of Jamalpur Goba village in Sardhna, has threatened that he and other members of his community (Valmiki) would convert to Islam on Republic Day if they do not get permission to perform a puja and carry out the Valmiki Shoba Yatra at Luv Kush Janma Bhoomi Valmiki Ashram here. “I met the Mahant of the Ashram on October 8 and requested him to permit us to carry out the puja on the premises. But he warned me of dire consequences if I was seen near the premises. He told me that members of my caste eat meat and drink liquor and hence cannot be permitted to carry out religious functions at the Ashram,” Singh told The Indian Express over the phone. “I have sent a letter to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in this connection. My family and nine other families belonging to the Valmiki Samaj of my village will accept Islam if we were not allowed to perform puja, take out Shobha Yatra and arrange a Bhandara at the Ashram,” he added. Shyam Singh will meet the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Balaini on January 10 to press for permission. The Mahant, Lakshyadevenand, claimed that the temple was open to all. “But taking out the Shobha Yatara and holding of Bhandara cannot be allowed as there have been three murders on the premises while these religious functions were being performed. He also claimed that the issue was being politicised for vested interests. “A few groups of both communities are emphasising on conversion for last few months for their political interests. I would like to clarify again that the temple is open for all,” said the Mahant. SASARAM: A Dalit of Bahera village under the Karam Chat police
station of Kaimur district was killed on Saturday evening when Dalits
of the village tried to offer prayers and prasad to Goddess Durga,
defying the long-standing ban imposed on them by upper caste
villagers.

The Dalits, including children and women, were assaulted mercilessly
by the upper caste people. Even the Dalits' cattle were not spared.
Kaimur SP G S Gangwar confirmed the incident.

An FIR against 17 named accused, including three police personnel
posted in other districts of Bihar and Jharkhand, was lodged with the
police station. Additional police force has been deployed in the
village where tension still prevails and the possibility of further
violence in near future cannot be ruled out, said a police officer of
the area. Even 48 hours after the incident, the DM and the SP had not
visited the spot.

Sources said in the village dominated by upper castes, entry of
Dalits into its lone Shiv temple is banned. Durga
Puja has been organised in the village for the last five years by a
committee in which all castes, including Dalits, have their
representation.

The Dalits also give money for organising the festival. But except
for Dalits, all other castes are allowed to offer puja. When five
Dalits, including Khelaw Ram, son of the deceased Ramlal Ram, reached
near the pandal and tried to offer prayers and prasad on Saturday,
the upper caste people prevented them from doing so.

The Dalits' repeated requests to allow them to offer prayers irked
the upper caste people who turned violent and started beating them.
The head of Sipahi Ram was hit against a wall and he was thrown on
the ground. When Dalit community elders tried to intervene, the upper
caste people attacked their houses and pelted them with stones, the
sources maintained.

Kaushalya Devi, daughter-in-law of Ramlal, said the upper caste
people stormed into her house and started beating them severely,
adding that Ramlal was shot dead when Dalits resisted. She alleged
that even minor children were not spared.

An elderly villager said he had never seen any Dalit offering
prayers in the temple which is situated in front of the deceased's
house in Dalit Tola. Muneshwar Chamar said the idol of Durga is made
by Dalits of the village every year, but they are not allowed to
touch it for offering prayers.

The district administration gave Rs 10,000 as ex-gratia payment to
the deceased's family and promised to give it a house under the
Indira Awas Yojana.

Jats crush 3 dalits under tractors in Rajasthan
AJMER/ JAIPUR: Hundreds of dalits from Nagaur district's Dangawas and surrounding villages fled for their lives on Friday after the region's dominant upper caste, the jats, mowed down three dalits under tractors, and grievously wounded a dozen others following the flaring up of a decades' old land dispute. The jat violence followed firing by dalits in which one dominant caste member was killed on Thursday.

Heavy police force was deployed at Dangawas, around 250 km from Jaipur, to enable the funeral rites of those killed but no arrest was made despite some horrific crimes committed against dalit women, including their molestation, beating, and repeated attempts to disrobe them. Many of them are battling crippling injuries in different hospitals.

The dispute relates to a 20ha farm land claimed by dalit families of Ratnaram Meghwal, Gutaram Meghwal and Khemaram Meghwal, but disputed by the family of Chimnaram Jat. The row has been pending in court for years.

Matters reached a head on Thursday when Dangawas's jats held a panchayat and summoned the Meghwals. The dalit families, fearing that the jats were assembling to attack them, fired shots at the two men sent to call them.

One Rampal died on spot. The crowd at jat panchayat then went berserk, attacking the Meghwals, bulldozing their houses, assaulting their women and chasing the fleeing men on tractors. Ratnaram Meghwal (65), Pancharam (60) and Pokaram (45) were crushed to death while 14 others, including six women, were injured.

On Friday, hundreds of armed attackers reached the hospital at Merta City and surrounded it to prevent doctors from treating the injured dalits. Police force from half-a-dozen police stations had to be called to ensure medical treatment to the injured, some of whom were later taken to Ajmer.

Dangawas's six dalit women being treated in Ajmer's JLN hospital alleged that the attackers molested them. Some of them suffered multiple fractures in hands and legs. A 25-year-old woman wept in the hospital speaking about how the attackers tore off her blouse and tried to strip her on the disputed f land. She got 15 stitches on her head. "They tried to rape me and abused me," the woman said.

Another woman said, "Four attackers tried to remove my 'ghaghra' (skirt) and tried to thrust a stick inside."

A third woman said, "They pulled me by my hair for about 50 metres, tore off my clothes and hit my legs with iron-rods." A DSP with a police team is now deployed to secure the injured dalits women.

Kishan Meghwal, the brother of one of the injured women, said, "We identified 13 among the 200 attackers, but the police hasn't acted so far." He added, "We've been suffering Jat atrocities for decades."

Meghwals are in a minority in Dangawas. P L Mimroth, chief functionary of Jaipur-based Centre for Dalit Rights, demanded police security for the dalits in and around Dangawas. A fact finding team of the CDR would reach Dangawas on Saturday.

"The government must ensure medical treatment of the injured and arrest the accused immediately, booking them under the SC/ST Act. Law and order in the region has completely failed," Mimroth told TOI.

He expressed surprise at absence of condemnation by the state government of the attack on dalits. "The government should compensate the victims who were abiding by court orders on the disputed land," Mimroth said.

SP Nagaur, HGR Suhasaa, however, denied that it was dalit versus upper castes violence.

"The accused include Meghwals as well, and not just jats. The village has a population of around 15,000 including 2,000 dalits. Complaints have been lodged by the two disputing parties and in both the FIRs, the accused include Meghwals," Suhasaa told TOI.

He said there was no fear among the Dangawas dalits. He said the land dispute was pending since 1964. "We have detained some people and will arrest the accused soon," the SP said.

Actually Kalari is there in Kerala(also in Tamilnadu,Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.) long before the arrival of Namboo Brahmins..It was practised by mostly Thiyya(Eezhavas of Malabar),Nair,Nadar,Pulaya,some Syrian Christian familiesof Mid TRAVANCORE areas of Kerala...Kalari is widely practised in Cheran dynasty..

1. Wrong, Vyasa was very much a legitimate child. Hinduism recognizes 8 different kind of marriages and the union between Rishi Prasasara and his mother, a Fisher Women called Satyavati was a Gandharva Vivah. His mother was not "dravidian", since Satyavati later on married the King Vichitravirya of Hastinapur (Haryana, North India) and became Queen of Hastinapur.

2. Satyavati is better known as the Grandmother of Didharashtra, Pandu and Vidur who were also children of Veda Vayasa through Niyog with Ambika and Ambalika. She is also the great Grandmother of the Pandava's and Kauravas.

3. Vyasa was a Brahmin because when he was 5, Rishi Parasara took him away from his mother and raised him on his own and educated him. He did this because he did not want his son to become a fisherman like his mother or his maternal grandfather.

4. Finally Kerala Namboodiri's claim lineage from Parasurama who cleared the land of Kerala, for his children. Which is why the kerala Namboodri were able to teach Kalari to their children, the Nairs.

No amount of Gharwapasi campaigns will bear fruit. What are you offering the people for Gharwapasi? What kind of Caste will they be in? Will they be equal in stature to Brahmins?

Kalari was introduced and taught by the Namboodris in Kerala who were taught this art by parashuram himself and passed on from generation to generation. When the need grew it was taught to others including Thiyya's, Nairs, christians, Muslims etc. especially since knowledge cannot be locked up for ever. It even reached China via the Bodhidharma. That does not mean it did not come from the Namboodris.

The biggest farud/lies are found in fabricated Hindu puranas. written to justify Aryan Hindu Brahmin dominance over native- Tamils aka Dravidian. Chera (or Kerala) was 1 of the 3 ancient Tamil kingdoms (which is also mentioned in the Ramayana) , some of the post sangam Tamil literature were wriitten by Cheras
