Hadith 2.73 (Al-Bukhari)
Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas (radiallahu ‘anhu) also narrated: The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to eat odd number of dates.

Hadith 2.76 (Al-Bukhaari)
Narrated Abu Sai’d Al-Khudri (radiallahu ‘anhu): The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to proceed to the musallah on the days of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha; the first thing to begin with was the prayer and after that he would stand in front of the people and the people would keep sitting in their rows. Then he would preach to them, advise them and give them orders, (i.e. Khutba). And after that if he wished to send an army for an expedition, he would do so; or if he wanted to give an order, he would do so, and then depart. The people followed this tradition till I went out with Marwan, the Governor of Medina, for the prayer of Eid-ul-Adha or Eid-ul-Fitr.

When we reached the musallah, there was a pulpit made by Kathir bin As-Salt. Marwan wanted to get up on that pulpit before the prayer. I got hold of his clothes but he pulled them and ascended the pulpit and delivered the Khutba before the prayer. I said to him, “By Allah, you have changed (the Prophet’s tradition).” He replied, “O Abu Sa’id! Gone is that which you know.” I said, “By Allah! What I know is better than what I do not know.” Marwan said, “People do not sit to listen to our khutba after the prayer, so I delivered the khutbah before the prayer.”

Hadith 2.77 (Al-Bukhaari)
Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to offer the prayer of Eid-ul-Adha and Eid-ul-Fitr and then deliver the Khutba after the prayer.

Hadith 2.78 (Al-Bukhaari)
‘Ata (radiallahu ‘anhu) said, “Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said, ‘The Prophet went out on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr and offered the prayer before delivering the khutba. ‘Ata told me that during the early days of Ibn Az-Zubair, Ibn Abbas had sent a message to him telling him that the Adhan for the ‘Id Prayer was never pronounced (in the life time of Allah’s Messenger) and the khutbah used to be delivered after the prayer. ‘Ata told me that Ibn Abbas and Jabir bin ‘Abdullah had said there was no Adhan for the prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Aqha.’ ‘Ata said, “I heard Jabir bin ‘Abdullah saying, ‘The Prophet stood up and started with the prayer, and after it he delivered the khutbah. When the Prophet of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) finished (the khutbah), he went to the women and preached to them, while he was leaning on Bilal’s hand. Bilal was spreading his garment and the ladies were putting alms in it.’” I said to Ata, “Do you think it incumbent upon an Imam to go to the women and preach to them after finishing the prayer and Khutba?” ‘Ata’ said, “No doubt it is incumbent on Imams to do so, and why should they not do so?”

Hadith 2.102 (Al-Bukhaari)
On the Day of Eid the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to return (after offering the Eid prayer) through a way different from that by which he went.

Hadith 2.104 (Al-Bukhaari)
The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) went out and offered a two Rak’aat prayer on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr and did not offer any other prayer before or after it and at that time Bilal (radiallahu ‘anhu) was accompanying him.

Narated By Abu Bakar :

The Prophet said, “Time has come back to its original state which it had on the day Allah created the Heavens and the Earth. The year is twelve months, four of which are sacred, three of them are in succession, namely Dhul-Qa’da, Dhul Hijja and Muharram, (the fourth being) Rajab Mudar which is between Juma’da (ath-thamj and Sha’ban.
The Prophet then asked, “Which month is this?” We said, “Allah and his Apostle know better.” He kept silent so long that we thought that he would call it by a name other than its real name. He said, “Isn’t it the month of Dhul-Hijja?” We said, “Yes.” He said, “Which town is this?” We said, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He kept silent so long that we thought that he would call it a name other than its real name. He said, “isn’t it the town (of Mecca)?” We replied, “Yes.” He said, “What day is today?” We replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He kept silent so long that we thought that he would call it by a name other than its real name. He said, “Isn’t it the day of Nahr?” We replied, “Yes.” He then said, “Your blood, properties and honour are as sacred to one another as this day of yours in this town of yours in this month of yours. You will meet your Lord, and He will ask you about your deeds. Beware! Do not go astray after me by cutting the necks of each other. It is incumbent upon those who are present to convey this message to those who are absent, for some of those to whom it is conveyed may comprehend it better than some of those who have heard it directly.” (Muhammad, the sub-narrator, on mentioning this used to say: The Prophet then said, “No doubt! Haven’t I delivered (Allah’s) Message (to you)? Haven’t I delivered Allah’s message (to you)?”

Whoever protects the honor of his brother in his absence, ALLAH protects his face from the fire on the Day of Judgment. [Tirmidhi]

“The supplication that gets the quickest answer is the one made by one Muslim for another in his absence.”

…… Reported by Abu Daw’ud and Tirmidhi

"Verily in the body there is such apiece of flesh that if it remains alright the whole body keeps well but if this piece of flesh develops some defect the whole body becomes unhealthy. Behold,- this piece of flesh - it is heart."

(Bukhari, Muslim)

This was told "14 hundred years" before the modern science bloomed.

The Prophet Mohammed (Sallalaho Aliahe Wa Sallam) one day said to Hazrat Ali (Radhiallaho Ahno): Aye Ali ! do these five things before going to bed at night:

1. give 4000 dinaars in sadaqa and then sleep
2. read one complete Quran and then sleep
3. pay the price for jannat and then sleep
4. make two people happy with each other when they are upset and then sleep
5.. do one hajj and then sleep

Hadrat Ali (Radhiallaho Anho) said, ya Rasulallah! this looks impossible, how will i be able to do it? then the prophet(Sallalaho Aliahe Wa Sallam)replied:

4 times reading surah Fatiha is equals to four thousand dinaars giving in sadaqa.

3 times reading surah ikhlas (qul hu allahu ahad) is equals to one complete quran.

3 times reading any durood shareef (shortest: Sallalaho alaihe wassallam) is the price of jannat.

10 times astaghfirullah (or any istighfar) is equals to making two unhappy people happy with each other.

4 times third kalima is equals to one hajj.

after this Ali (radhiallao anho) said, ya rasulallah (sallalaho aliahe wasallam)! now i will do all these before going to bed.

My dear muslims, it takes less then 5 minutes for all the above zikr and look at the virtues for it.....who would not want to have all these virtues to be in their book of good deeds.
To remind oneself of it, the easiest way is to write down on a peice of paper all the above zikr to be done b4 going to sleep and stick that piece of paper just next to ur bed....and of course Allah is the one to remind.

it will be very nice of u if u could plz forward this to as many muslims as possible coz if anyone starts doing these good deeds, then there is no doubt tht u will also be rewarded for it. Inshallah.

Plz make dua that Allah guide us to the right path.....Jazakallah Khair.

thank you so much for sharing this with everyone!...its very helpful and may Allah guide us on the straight path!-Ameen
