Dabangg brings Pakistani public back to cinema halls

Peepli Live was an awesome movie. Take any standard. Script, acting, music, direction, social message, anything. no denying it. Infact I have not heard even one person saying it is not good

Dabangg on the other hand is awesome crap. its awesome for the pure brainless humor it provides in huge doses. its crap because..... well no real reason there. it simply doesnt take itself seriously. the best thing about a good comedy :D

I enjoyed it very much, it was a pure masala entertainment flick. Escapism of the purest form.

It makes a good return to Bollywood roots by being filmed in UP. I just can't stand all these NRI type films set overseas, with skyscrapers and all things Western. I can't warm to such artificial screenplay, no depth or soul.

Give me the character of India, the villages, the bazaars, old quarters any day of the week. That's why Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai was a hit also. The common man can relate to it. Don't chase the Western paisa by filming abroad, they're rarely a hit.

Looking forward to seeing Peepli Live.

Dude I must caution you, you can die of disgust.

There is a scene where literally a guy's Sh*t is analysed, and I MEAN analysed like color, shape etc.

You know what that was one of the reason that i loved old Indian movies. Old Indian movies were rich in their culture but now i don't like them. They had a moral and a story but now they don't have that charm.

I also like the same ones..

I watched 14 blades, a Chinese movie just 2 days back..but could nt understand much of the historical part.. maybe i should ask sigecross or some other members..

Btwn the movie was good

YouTube - Donnie Yen 14 Blades new Trailer

thanks for the name of this movie - will watch it soon :)
By its look its very similar to other chinese movies so i am not expecting any new techniques of martial arts and the places where its been shot are very similar to "The Forbidden Kingdom" and "The Hero" - so.....lets see anyway

Thanks for the trailer

I downloaded long time back man. It was a good movie but in India this will not work since the hero dies at the end.

Well it makes a change from seeing someone dancing in a mall in Dubai, or under a waterfall! ;)

Maybe the article is referring to the people without laptops and access to ********.

Yeah maybe. It's unfortunate that cinema culture ended with the decline of local industry. It was fun to watch movies in cinema though.

It's the old age winning formula. I think after Once Upon a Time, and Dabangg, producers are seeing that going for mega stunts and big exotic locations is an expensive mistake.

I'm sure they'll re-evaluate their stance and bring films back to India. I know the Western market is lucrative, but don't neglect your core audience, or that soul we the viewer are after.

still it run with a occupancy of more than 70 % in pakistani theaters, what does that mean,Pakistanis r brainless:lol:

:woot: 70% theaters and in Pakistan present now ??? Not possible.

They have converted many good movie theaters into shopping malls .

and yeh those who watch these movies are as brainless :P
