Crouching Tiger: The World At the Tip of a Chinese Spear

.
what's the point? this is not crunching!

The only way there would be a war between the US and China is if China attacks the US in any way, or goes to war against one or more of our allies in Asia. To do so would be catastrophic for China. America is China's largest trading partner. The moment war starts, that economic relationship would end. Any Chinese attack would be viewed negatively in the world community, UN, etc. China would become a pariah to the world community. The nations of the world have already noticed this dangerous, bombastic, rise of Chinese nationalism, (especially their Asian neighbours), and would assign blame accordingly. It would be the most idiotic move the Chinese could make. All the progress, all the development of China since the great Deng Xiaoping would be quickly erased.

Any war with China will be a Chinese defensive war. It is the USA that is always on the offence, all over the globe in fact.

Then there are the small audacious little pin pricks coming from Japan, Vietnam and the phillipines emboldened by half hearted assurances of protection by their master on the fcuking other side of the globe.

If there is a Total War between China and USA.
That's would be Catastrophic for Both Sides.
Not just for China, but for Americans too.

I don't know for Americans, they are Ready to Face that Catastrophic Condition or Not.
But Chinese already passed that Catasthropic Condition, in Second Sino-Japan War (1937-1945), and Civil War Phase (1945-1949).
And they prove that they can Survive and Pass that Condition, Not Surrender to Foreign Invader and become Victorious in the end.

You think, It's Easy to Turn Down China. You are Absolutely Wrong, China is not Afghanistan nor Libya.

Just For Your Info, China and Chinese People is Not Easy to turn down, and would not Easily Surrender to Foreign Invader.

Even in Korean War (1950-1953), You and Your Allies with your Sophisticated Weapons cannot Defeat Chinese Troops, and Retake Pyongyang City, Northern Korean Peninsula again. :coffee:

Then why is it clear to everyone in the SCS that it is China who is acting aggressively? There is zero chance that America would ever attack China unprovoked. There is a far, far, greater chance that Chinese nationalist expansionism against America's Asian allies may result in the outbreak of war.

Then there are the small audacious little pin pricks coming from Japan, Vietnam and the phillipines emboldened by half hearted assurances of protection by their master on the fcuking other side of the globe.

...and THAT statement proves my point "in spades" as to the nature of arrogant Chinese expansionism and exposes the falsehood of your first statement about it being a "defensive war" on China's part.

I don't know what you mean by "turn down" but if war comes between the US and China, it most certainly would be catastrophic for both countries which is why it would be the highth of idiocy for China to start one. You certainly don't think America would just invade the Chinese mainland unprovoked, do you? Read through any similar thread on this forum and one can see clearly it is the Chinese who are becoming more and more nationalist and expansionist. While America seeks to transfer more responsibility for regional security to our allies. Even if war were to break out, America would never invade the Chinese mainland. It would be almost entirely a naval and air war in the South China Sea.

Dear sir,

I am no expert in geopolitical affairs, just a reader of it. My understanding is, I can only expect war from US not from China. Chinese are too busy in building Islands in SCS. They don't have much time for war with Japan or US. Chinese are also not interested in bringing democracy and liberating world (read destabilization) like Americans.

World doesn't war b/w China and US. Mushroom clouds are not a pretty sight right? What guarantee we have war won't be nuclear? Hope sanity prevails.

Containing China or Russia is American hobby not the other way round.

No offense...

No offence taken but you should actually search and read through some of the numerous threads concerning the South China Sea, especially posts by those Asian neighbours of China and that will dissuade you completely of any notion that all China is doing is, "busy building Islands". Just read them, and you will clearly see who the aggressor is in that region, who other Asian countries fear, why they, (including former enemies like Vietnam), are working hard to rapidly become America's allies. You will also see from numerous Chinese posters, the blatant nationalism and desire for military expansionism in Asia, the utter disdain they have for their Asian neighbours, who they view as their enemies beyond the United States.

HA

Which country has a HISTORY of attacking others? In fact which country already attacked the other in their time of weakness with a pack of wolves of 8 nations?

If you want to gauge a person, look at their history and family history.

So, you assume that China would do, Pearl Harbour Attack in the Future?
Sorry, I am Disagree. For what? To Conquer all over the world, and Fulfil Sacred Duty? :D

Many Chinese have Nationalist and Pride from their Born day.
But just in recent days, that "Nationalist and Pride" getting more Focus from foreign media.
And About Expansionist, I am Completely Disagree again.
If they are really Expansionist, they Must be Reclaim Outer Mongolia, an Empty Rich Land.

If war between China and USA broke,we would still have enough time to consider the "economic relationship".:omghaha:Do Yankees want to repudiate your debt? You talked as if your money were owed.
Any Chinese attack would be viewed negatively in the world community, UN, etc. China would become a pariah to the world community.
Uncle Sam is always a justice fighter, isn't it?
The whole world is your ally, isn't it?
Japanese think that all the world loves Japan.
And Yankees think that all the world loves America.
No wonder you are families.:omghaha:

Thanks for replying....But even if China has issues with South Korea, Japan etc They also do much trade with each other. I have read somewhere that South Koreans hate Japan more than they complain against China. Why? Due to Japanese crimes against Koreans and their women. There are lot of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Philippines tourists, students and businessmen in China. They are still close with each other despite issues. War is highly unlikely. These countries are very mature, progressing and seeing the fruits of peace.

I don't know more than you but i still wanna say If US is really serious in settling issues of SCS, then instead taking sides to settle score with China, US should put serious effort in resolving issues, with TAKING ON BOARD China too.

Chinese are just too many. Some nationalists don't represent their 1 billion people or government. I think you haven't seen nationalists in South Asia, who daily sleep at night after dropping nukes on each other  I m talking about Pakistan and India....

Involvement of US only makes the matter worse, this is what i always feared of....

No, I do not. I think it more likely that a provocation will be manufactured by Beijing that will result in war, which would spiral out of control. And no, their goal is not to "conquer the world" but to dominate the SCS in particular and all it's countries and Asia in general.

Oh well, if it's a poll..........it must be true!

You're leaving out numerous countries more at the forefront, Vietnam, Philippines, etc., . It is China that has caused an arms race with the countries of the South China Sea, NOT America. It is China that is driving the military build-up of countries like Japan and South Korea. As for trade, America not only has trade with China, we are the biggest trading partner of China and vise versa but that has not stopped the Chinese from rapidly militarising the SCS or from provocatively placing military forces in disputed areas.

Please give me a break, don't always start with a pathetic "IF" as portraying US or your allies to be innocent victim of China first shot, all these years Americans and their allie provocative actions are just incited China to make the first move and so their can find excuse to retaliate, it's been decade that you guys dream that to be happen and praise for this moment. We Chinese have experience and great wisdom to deal with our deadly enemies in our history, if we decide to attack first, we will make sure that the war will end as we wish and not as our enemies wish to be.
