You do realise the vote turnout is like 33 percent. Give the people a sense of owning the Democratic system. Its a Long road. We are just 70.

Many people simply say Democracy is not kosher.

You need to package the will of the people to coexist peacefully.

Masking the same feudal system with words of Democracy is not a very good recipe for Long term.

Comparing Frau Merkel or Herr Trump who are pinnacle of Western Democracy versus a 70 year sub Continental Democracy is in its infancy is unfair to say the least.

Nawaz Sharif had his chance, but he was disqualified.

Kind of agree with you there. Sometimes to do good you have to do dirty. Or else you will never win and be in a position to win and do good. This is IK's downfall. He needs to get real dirty to get rid of the dirty. The system is dirty.

Kaptaan bhai, The Halqa in Karachi where I am from is the only place from Karachi(or may be Sindh) where PTI won. Well, it actually lose at first thanks to rigging but with constant protests by my friends(reported in news too) finally PTI won. That day till now nobody knows who they voted for and where he is anymore. Just don't be surprised if PTI candidate losses here this time.

No it isnt, just as the 20th century has more of human progress than all past millennium combined.. so has the pace of human thought and ideal surged faster. The rate at which it took the concept of human dignity and equality to take root in America during the 19th century doubled in the last 20 years. The same could be expected of Pakistanis with access to all information (even the lowest earning strata now has access to the digital frontier). But the issue is essentially ingrained ignorance and a repeating idea put into enforcing their ignorant ideals. Not too different from the American “base” that still supports trump except that is a nation raised in isolation while this is a nation raised on more connections.

Yes, I think IK and PTI have failed to invest in Karachi. And this will cost PTI. Although I don't think they would win anyway. For some reason that you guys in Pakistan will be better able to explain but Nawaz Sharif and his PML-N have the largest province in their pocket.
