Cross border raid by Iranian agents to free abducted envoy

. .
But DAWN seems to be saying otherwise.

Dawn quoted IRNA saying it was a cross border operation Now i dont know if You take cross border as across Pakistani border , because Iran has a border with Afghanistan too.

The diplomate was kidnapped from Peshawar and even if he is kept in Tribal areas, there is no Pak-Iran border as far as North West Pakistan is concerned .

It either should be operation in Balochistan which is NOT the case.

So indeed the operation was in Afghanistan and he is recovered from Afghanistan.

This point also prove that the diplomate was kidnapped by people who wanted to strain Iran, Pakistan relations.

You could be right. That will make more sense.

But it does seem a weird by the kidnappers though. Abducting him in Peshawar, which is far away from the Iran border but then taking him to somewhere in Afghanistan and close to the Iran border and risking a raid by the Iranians.

Well as details come in all indications are pointing towards an operation in afghanistan. I thought it was our people sleeping on the job with a suitcase full of money. What kind of check posts are the americans manning?

:what: he was in Peshawar consulate so indeed he had been kidnapped from Peshawar. What happend Robbies how come you are asking silly questions.

2. The kidnapper indeed tried to malign Pakistan and it is understandable he was kidnapped by enemies of Pakistan (internal, external both can be).

3. There is no other area the kidnappers could have kept him other than FATA and shifting him to Afghanistan.

4. either they had to keep him in Balochistan which as more near to Iran than middle of Afghanistan

5. Another possibility could be that anti-Pakistan elements within Karzai set up have a hand in his kidnapping.

6. Indian hand can not be ruled out behind these elements

if true this is a joke .... will we ever seal off the border and make proper checks on who is coming in and going out of our country. Pakistan is not an open house where any one could walk in and do whatever they like.

The whole world has been asking you to seal your border for years! Terrorists operate all over the region out of Pakistan. Iran is constructing a wall 3 meters tall all across our border with Pakistan because Pakistan is not doing enough to control its border.

The people who are complaining about sovereignty, well can you tell me how many times American drones have bombed Pakistan?

People also said that Pakistan was involved in the capture of Rigi but that turned out to be lies, i am sure this will be too, had Pakistan wanted to do anything about this Diplomat they would have done it ages ago.

It seems as if Iran is taking a more active role in securing its eastern border and hopefully they will continue to operate in other countries to take out terrorists.

.
that urdu news is quoting Governor NWFP as saying that this diplomat was recovered from afghanistan and according to his information was handed over to iranian mission in Kabul.

the gud thing is that he is free now.

.
Well the real story is something else, anyway let the people play with their imagination. But just for a head start, neither was he freed by iranian intelligence guys, if they had been that effective then i believe they would have been able to do lot more within their own country, anyhow that is a separate debate. Nor was he recovered from Afghanistan by iranians. The Abdul malik Rigi, was also something else, but let them take the credit for their internal good image building, similarly this one too.

We all know the Iranian propaganda machine, stealthy aircraft, state of the art submarines, stealthy torpedoes, Chinese AShM missiles converted to God knows what, and soooooooooooooooooo many other examples.

Let them rejoice, good thing is, the guy after such an ordeal has gone back to his country and family and is a free man now.

First secure your own people within Iran, then try to think about crossing your borders. Couldn't protect your esteemed nuclear scientists and talk big as if some super humans are there in Iran. We did saw the riots happening and how they were brutally suppressed by your super human military and militias.
