Not to use force ... Crises should be resolve through political means ... Corps Commanders of Pak Army suggested to Govt.

I am undecided weather that is a good decision or bad decision.

After Nawaz hearing this news, he might take advantage to do something more evil and mass murder.
They have done the right thing - People aren't ready for intervention. They have seen how people turned against Musharraf - Why would they want to repeat that mistake?Let the people enjoy democracy.

Coup doesn't happen after 3 hours meeting ... It happens suddenly ............

IK TuQ and NS
The army should do something, Its not the people really who blame the army but our foolish (Dunno how i m using such a soft word) Media only does so..

Its an apt decision. Army must not intervene in an unconstitutional manner. Moreover it would be well-advised that they ask recalcitrant parties to refrain from issuing ever-fresh demands every day.

I beg to disagree.
The only meaningful line in the statement is the Army's rejection of the use of force. Meaning, while the thugs are not only threatening to occupy and dug inside the symbols of Pakistani statehood the Army doesn't want the govt to use 'force' to expel. Says it all as to whose side the Army is--the public adherence to 'democracy' notwithstanding. Am I right in interring this?

BTW, ARMY CANNOT mount a direct coup without provoking a big backlash from all the political parties, judiciary, civil society, and much of media. I have said it before and will say again: There has never been more opposition to a coup in Pakistan's history than now.

An apolitical army, for now
The meeting of the army commanders has a serious bearing on the prevailing scenario, given the fact that the military had engaged in 'mediating' the crisis between the government and PAT, PTI.

The Army's message in support of the political process comes at a time when speculation is rife that the current crisis is being steered by, or has tacit approval from the powerful military establishment. The conclusions of the corps commanders meeting today will, for the moment, help in allaying fears of military intervention in the crisis.

Multiple events earlier in the week had suggested that the army and the government were not on the same page with regards to the PTI, PAT protests.

First the the government was left reeling from the blowback of asking the military to step in to alleviate the prevailing political crisis. Then a second jolt followed when the ISPR clarified that it was the government that had asked General Raheel Sharif to “facilitate” negotiations with the protesting parties, when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had seemingly stated the exact opposite in the National Assembly.

The events revived concerns about the conventional issue in Pakistani politics: competition for power between the military and civilian leaders. The new statement from today's meeting however, suggests the army remains apolitical, despite its direct involvement in the current crisis.

Political crisis must end through political means, Army says - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

Thanks COAS for confirming that violence should not be allowed in politics anymore.

shit in their pants and hold it...maybe be man enough to get the damned fake "elected" BS called PM to come out and openly speak or question the people...

Yaar If someone rams into a house with a Pajero the owner comes out to at least have a look and ask the person what his bloody problem is! NS has been hiding under the bed long enough! When will he grow some balls, take the situation seriously and address it like a PM should!

I agree. I was just a little relieved because so many people are talking about it that just one more day of NOT being under Martial Law starts feeling like relief.

You are totally correct. Army could just tell these two to * off and they will.

Army wants to get rid of NS, there is hardly any doubt about it. He won't resign. So, it then becomes a war of nerves. Who shall crack up first? Who would give up first?

I would stop the food trucks and tell them to go home.

I would stop the supply of water and tell them to go home.

I would tell the channels to stop broadcasting the antics of these people.

I would cut them off from their support base and tell police to face them off for two days without beating the crap out of them.

But that is just me. I do not know why the government can not do this?
