Crime due to outsiders; Delhi ‘glitters’, says CM

I am Delhi born and honestly man; Delhi is not even close to Hong Kong. Even my home city Gangtok is cleaner than Delhi! I love both cities equally but feel sad for Delhi due to a pathetic government (Congress) ruining the beautiful city that has so much potential.
i havent been there in 12 years (delhi( but i hear it s become very nice now

Delhi seems fascinating. Actually, I think all cities in developing countries are cities made up of almost all outsiders due to urbanization. In 19th century, London was also a city of outsiders, as everyone was born in Liverpool, Manchester, or Glasgow, and moved to London to work in the banks, factories and docks.

How can there outsiders & insiders in a national capital ?

The NCR is unsafe and there is no denying it. The issue is that it straddles three states, this has its own implications which the politicians cannot handle either individually or collectively.

One of the biggest drawback with quality of life in Delhi is, the crowd is too aggressive. Old Delhi is still dirty ( idk how delhi metro were able to keep the bogies clean. Kudos to them )

Hordes of uneducated gujjars from gurgaon became rich overnight riding on the reality boom. These people create ruckus in public places and have no manners what so ever at all. Everyday you will hear some guy got shot over petty issues like parking a bike infront of other's house etc.

Apart from that, the nightlife lacks taste. Every disc you go its punjabi bhangra going on or Some crappy bollywood music(Damn ! I am sick of hearing soundtracks from salman movies). In spite of having so many small bands etc in various colleges of Delhi Universities, you can hardly find good performers in 5 star hotel ( pubs etc ) in the evenings.

But for some strange reason I really like the place. I like the quality of parties and weddings especially the ones in farm houses in delhi suburbs. Besides delhi has a lot of history and interesting stories associated with in be it during pre independence or from mughal era. Maybe since I like a bit of history, I like that place.
ps. I came to Delhi in '94 and have been here since.

i want to live and work in the country's capital at least once in my life.
I know that some muslims women marry and go to pakistan from india. but i havent seen too many hindu women leaving india for Pak. although i have seen some pakistani muslim women married to hindus in india. but they are typically the rich urban delhiites business people

The weather is hot, the people rude and the pseudo-intellectuals rule. Yet, I find it strange that there is a certain charm about the city.
