When you have an initial availability of weapons, the only way later to absolutely deny people of weapons is through a nationwide house-to-house hunt for weapons. Else as long as there are legal access to weapons, there will be illegal, or the circumventing of laws, to gain access to weapons.Question: How did the other guy got the gun in the first place? Isn't it because of the same lax gun laws?
Your attempt to make a credible argument failed. If we take your argument seriously, since no one can guarantee human nature, as in a 'good guy' can turn into a 'bad guy' at any unknown time, then what is the point of having armed guards for banks in the first place? No one know when a 'good' soldier can turn into a 'bad' soldier and start killing his comrades, so might as well not having an army at all.The reason why we've armed guards at banks or at other sensitive public places is to stop armed criminals.
No one can guarantee about the human nature. You can never know when the "good" guy turns into a "bad" guy. The problem with free gun laws like those in America is when the good guy turns bad he can turn him-self into a killing machine very easily.
In both the Aurora and Sandyhook shootings, the killers were wearing bullet-proof vests which I believe can stop the bullets from your normal concealed guns? So, the only possible way to kill people like these is to equip every one with high power assault rifles effectively turning your country into a war zone.
You make the typical false association that weapons WILL make a 'good' person go 'bad'. If that is true, then Switzerland with its MANDATORY gun ownership should be the bloodiest place on Earth. What is worse than lax gun laws? How about a MANDATORY gun ownership law?
