On the other hand, healthy competition is always a good thing. That is geopolitical imperatives.
Dude... forget ready to eat biryani... our biscuits are awesome, and we export boatloads to the Middle East. BTW Biryani will be too complicated but I've been thinking about a ready to microwave omelette recipe lately. Maybe that too will dolol .. Biryani is Indian, so that is out. Cement is too heavy to carry. Onions not sure, the Chinese grow plenty of onions. Mangoes, they are sweet and anything sweet you eat. Not export. So where do we stand? Islamic science, Islamic maths, Islamic knowledge, Islamic culture and Islamic way of doing things so that the 'kuffar' Chinese can make progress.packaged ready to eat
microwave omlette? dude, you are going to be a legend among college kids...I love the line:

Recently I saw a news about a chambers of commerce meeting where they were lamenting that the Chinese imports will ruin the local industry.
I believe it is a genuine concern. On the other hand, a lot of our industries export good to other countries. Our leather products, surgical instruments, cutlery, sports goods, Chonsa mango, rice are doing great business despite competition from China & India in the world market.
If we overcome the energy shortage due to Chinese investment. Our industries will produce 4 times their current capacity. Cottage industries in cities like Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Wazirabad will start booming again. People of these cities already know how to install plants at home and produce things. These plants were mostly shut down because of energy crisis.
In short, I suppose our industry won't go under. Instead, there's a strong probability it will start flourishing.

Extreme caution. You are very, very near blasphemy territory.we are not even good at that

Sports equipment. In my younger years in India, I was gifted a bat made in Sialkot. probably one of the better bats I used in my kit playing for my school team.
Also, aren't 60% of soccer balls used in the world made in Pak?
Now I get that this is a very niche industry, but just wanted to point out an area that can be expanded and developed with the right investment.
Also, if trade with India can be opened up, one need not bank on "outsiders" to develop industry. India itself is a huge enough market to help Pakistan improve its exports. Of course the same is vice versa, but at least you won't be competing against a manufacturing hub like china which will not do much for Pak exports. The trade gap with India will at least be manageable compared to china.
Pharma is another area of growth Pakistan should get into, that India can help with greatly.
Frankly, we havre a problem and I thank this runs in India as well. That is about quality. We as a nation do not appreciate quality. When ever I go to Pakistan the first thing that strikes my how everything is shoddy. It's like nothing is perfect. The lightposts are slightly askew, the roads are uneven, the houses are badly designed, even new things are there but not quite 100%. I think this is because of the protectedso called industries and a monopoly that has cut the country off from the global currents.Sports equipment
Valid Points.
another thing you missed are surgical equipment's.

My opinion is or rather I hope that CPEC will be open the gates that will turn into flood of Chinese goods that will kill off the unproductive or those who can't compete. Post that new grass will grow, vigorous and healthy that is able to flourish in a competetive enivironment. Down the road the Chinese will go into JVs and even shift some units to Pakistan. Chinese are here to stay. They not a one day wonder. They think long term and will not let the chicken die because it lays the eggs. By shifting some units to Pak they will assure a healthy market for their products. Any way got to go stretch my legs ..
