Counterweights or Double Trouble? How the Rise of India and China Will.....

I will give comment after watching full video when i am totally free. Thanks for tagging me.

Hmmm..............Everyone here agrees that India has lost its way somewhat and a new approach needs to be implemented , but what approach ?? India is a land of Engineers , engineers and engineers so why not capitalize on that , I mean other than a hand full of IITians and some students of BITS not many would stand shoulder to shoulder to an American or European or even a Chinese Engineer . My point is we again need to reasses and drastically improve the standard of our engineers and for god sake create more civil and mechanical engineers other than those good for nothing computer engineers .
China has advanced thanks to Manufacturing , similarly we should follow its footsteps and create skill full engineers rather than those lousy, pathetic ones .

So much inaccuracies and self-prophesies in that woman's speech, lol , balanced? I don't see any value in this discussion.

@Abingdonboy ........... It's a long one, when I get some time will check the full video and then comment. :)

India is going to play neither a counter balance or double trouble role for the US in the region. We are still one of the poorest nations on the earth with pathetic internal deficiencies in terms of health,education and infrastructural issues.On the other hand we,Indians always played for our own national interests.The percentage of divergence of opinions between India and the US shows that India is not willing to join the US camp to harm its own national interest.
For the time being,our immediate goal should be to focus on our own economical growth keeping balanced relations with all the nations.China is going to remain our strongest powerful neighbor in the region and only a poised economical relationship based on mutual respect and trust with her is necessary for our own national interest.

I think they are happy with that as they can easily sell their better equipment to India like:
30 C-17s
20+ C-130s other than 12 C-130s
30+ P-8Is
60-80+ CH-47 Chinooks
100++ Apache
Some other equipment as well that can also include:
11 Austin Class

5 Tarawa class
All this ex-US Navy equipment with upgrades.

I am sure that 12 Austin class LPDs and 5 Tarawa Class LHD can easily fulfill all the Indian Navy needs for long.... Just it depends on India and US to make the deal as soon as possible.

Why this discussion is pedestrian;

1. Zero understanding of the Naxal problem.
2. Zero understanding of Indian foreign policy. The era of righteousness as a component in Indian Foreign Policy died with Nehru.
3. The focus of the discussion was on the concept of allies and foes. This concept will not work; neither with China nor India. Both countries want to be economic partners with the US, but, not military allies. On environmental concerns both India and China are on the same side.

The reason why, I say this discussion is pedestrian is that the model for this discussion is still based on Cold War type logic of polarised super power, with secondary allies. The world has moved towards a uni-polar world, with multiple countries encouraging and marching towards multi-polarity.

I think we should keep our head down for atleast 2 Decades bring us out of Poverty & the Focus on challenging Uncle Sam or anyone else
