I think enough rhetoric here and start analyzing this situation maturely. This is what we know:

1) Both sides admit there was 'disengagement' but there was only withdrawal on Indian site. Disengagement and deescalation can only mean one thing here. Both sides agree to reduce troops and heavy weapons. So if there are X amounts of IA at their side of the border, China will also have X amount of soldier in Doklam. If there are no missiles, then no one will have missiles. Essentially same as previous borders posturing. So what is the difference here now. Previously Doklam area did not have permanent Chinese presence. Now we have permanent presence upto Doka La, check the map if you want to know where it is. Essentially what India did was giving Chinese defacto control of Doklam in return for a road postponement concession.

1) India demanded mutual withdrawal, China get out of Doklam back to Yadong portion, and India will withdraw back to Doka La. NO

2) India demanded road cessation commitement : NO

3) China demanded unilateral unconditional withdrawal of IA back to Doka La: YES

4) Both sides agree on deescalation: YES

5) Who won? Depends on how you look at it.

I realise something new.

I am so stupid, Doklam and Doklam plateau are two different things, China wanted to own Doklam not just the plateau, the road till Doka La essentially already covers the whole Doklam plateau. When we station troops there, we have de-facto control of Doklam plateau. Strategically, it was the plateau that mattered, the last big piece of flat land there facing Siliguri. Use google 3D, the plateau area is only at the top left quarter of Doklam, the rest are essentially river valleys with no strategic use.

So when Indians entered the Doklam plateau area, their main aim was not road obstruction, it was road destruction of the completed roads in Doklam Plateau. Why else do you need to bring in 2 excavsatros, you could have used only kumbaya troops instead.

Map from Indian analyst. Doklam plateau is from Batang La, Merug La, Senche La to Doka La, looks like a diamond, essentially the whitish area crisscrossed by the roads there. We completed roads from Merug La/Senche La to Doka La, essentially grade 40 roads, then interference from Doka La happened when we tried to extend to Gyomochen. Gyomochen is not a plateau but it was the original trijunction as per 1890 agreement.

Strategically speaking, Doklam plateau had already been fully militarized, with troops and a grade 40 road. No point debating whether China will continue building till Gipmochi/Gyomechi, since you won't believe official statements I posted. The road to Gyomochi is strategically useless but legally useful for us to justify control of the whole Doklam. This is my neutral assessment.
