I didn't know tech was declared haram....no matter where it came from.

Maybe but no one has pushed forth a fully fleshed concept so I'll say that's a hard no...

You see the big radar in front of the vehicle? You really need that to find the mines....which is why the vehicle is big too.....if you can make a miniature radar that can do the same job, just miniaturized, well you have a marketable idea!

This is another idea for anti mine devices but only works for contact based IEDS, probably not RF based ones...

Does our military brass and decision makers even have any desire to procure/research such technology? Do the lives of our soldiers matter to them?

PA has Counter IED, Explosives and Munitions School at the Military College of Engineering in Risalpur. The courses include theory sessions and practical tasks with a repair-focussed assessment, instilling in students the skills and knowledge necessary to physically repair and maintain the highly technical CIED equipment - including robots and electronic counter measures. Students/Operatives are from the Pakistan Army, Civil Defence and Rangers.

British had donated some CIED's.
