PTI should not promise to subsidise the energy prices - there is nothng that should be done - the cost is the cost. They can make prices to cut down all the freebies, and maybe that will lower the price - but they should not go back to subsidies of energy prices ever again .. that has caused the circular debt.

Agreed. Subsidies is one big reason why Pakistan is bankrupt. People need to pay for voting in PPP & PMLN for 30 years. They need to pay the bill or don't use electricity. If you don't punish people for stupidity, they'll keep making the same mistakes.

Everyone there gets subsidies. Sometimes indirectly in the form of overvalued rupee. I'm all for ending them across the board, with small exception for impoverished. Either way, I bet the govt won't end subsidies for the elite even if the country is totally bankrupt. Because the elite rule the country and they come through the votes of the masses.

They can also announce that anyone who pilfers power will be exiled to Afghanistan to have their hands cut off.

What is going on in the country is not sustainable, will lead to massive riots and arson, and a civil war. The Generals sitting in their garrisons and cantonments, in GHQ are cut off from the reality, oblivious of the unprecedented unrest, people are literally seething with anger.

And the electronic media is all controlled, not giving the actual picture, another failed effort, always backfires.

Will go into full blown civil war in two months time as per many reports by senior analysts.

It not possible that 240 million people can be ostracized, oppressed, controlled and coerced by force, they are drunk on power and blinded by hatred.

Will get worse before it starts to get better.
