its not just the music, its also the story line. I enjoy watchin bollywood movies, quite a few of them ill be watching, and most of them u can tell the story was from this english or irani movie.
Its not fair to the original artist that their hard work is being stolen.
Most of the Pakistani singers whose songs have been stolen are not half as rich as those Indians who stole their songs. I'm sure if Indian movie industry asked these Pakistani singers for their songs and paid them, they would allow their songs in Indian movies...but Indian movie industries didn't even pay them which gets me so angry
Today Tassawar Khanum is in her 70s and no one knows about her outside Pakistan while her songs which are stolen by Indians are famous everywhere, the people who stole her songs are millionares while she remains a middle class Pakistani citizen.
Please do a favor by watching legal copies of work of Pakistani entertainment industry they need support of Pakistanis badly. Apathy of people of your country perhaps has cost a lot. I see only you who is complaining I did not hear from the artiste themselves.
As if anything would happen if they complained to India.
By the way, Pakistan's population is 170 million, India's population is over 1 billion..the language is very similar..why do you think Pakistani Atif Aslam is so rich because he sold all his songs to India. Its one thing buying a song its another stealing it. If India bought these Pakistani songs like they bought Atif Aslam's songs it wouldn't be a problem...but Indians didn't buy most of Pakistani songs that have been played in Indian movies...they stole them.
If Hollywood stole Canadian songs (not asking the Canadian singers permission without giving them any money or credit) U.S. would never get away with it.
Well its unfortunate that people just shamelessely copy the orignal songs per say in the name of inspiration, without any consent of the orignal composer. You have to question the morals of that individual but not the industry as a whole.
Actually there is no stealing involved since the original song is still available - it is copyright infringement. And Copyright is not a natural property or right like land or gold is. It is a limited monopoly granted by the government of the State. If the law of the land says remixes are legal, they are legal. If it says there is no property rights over some types of music, there is none. And no government, no copyright.
US in its early independence (until 1900's I think) refused to respect English copyrights, and as a result had access to cheap books and education. Ignoring copyrights is not an unheard of concept. Same goes for Indian CDs/DVDs in Pakistan, I guess - if the Pak govt says they are not going to prosecute Pirates, then nothing much anyone can do about it except trying to get them to sign a treaty.
The songs and music of subcontinent grew by people copying and retelling others stories and songs. What would all the Qawwali singers sing if only the original songs could not be sung by someone else ?
- The above is not my views exactly, but I am taking a morally defensible position on this issue. Hopefully people can discuss without accusations of stealing and mudslinging countries.

Since you are accusing india of stealing pakistani songs... which infact is understandable from your pas stand against india. For a counter argument i can say the billions of Rs indian filim industry looses due the pirated CD's comming from pakistan..!!!!! So both wrongs automatically nullifies..!!! .
However a deep rooted sentiments for a much wider role and exchange of people/culture and trade between two countries is hidden in your words which is appreciated..!!!
How can people forget the involvement of Underworld in bollywood.
But on the other hand : its smart business move to copy the tune and make money.
Isnt it more like REMIX ?
Its not indian its an american way of making money.
so chill
The issue is moral, and not legal..!!! It is not always right to use some others stuff without permission right . And yes blunt accusations and mudslinging is something we can always refrain from......right omar..!!!

Well Seven Samurai from Japan has been stolen by every other film industry worth his name.....there is Cop movie ( I am forgetting the name) from HK stolen by Hollywood....Indian Song "Chamma Chamma" (If that was org) was used without prior permission in "Moulin Rouge"...As if anything would happen if they complained to India.

^ Then why should a singer work so hard on his/her music, why should a songwriter work so hard on writing a song..if they are only going to get ripped off by a greedy neighboring country.
