Indian movie industry, Bollywood, is a multi-billion dollar industry. Its the second most successful movie industry after Hollywood. In every Bollywood movie there are songs that actors/actresses lip sing and dance to. Most people dont know that Indian directors/musicians have stolen music from different parts of the world especially from Pakistan (mainly because we share similar languages) and the industry never gave any credit, never gave a single rupee, or never asked the original singer for his/her permission. I've been browsing youtube, and first I thought it was only Pakistani songs that India steals but they also have stolen songs from Western singers, Arabic singers, etc.
Its very unfair that musicians who work so hard and are so talented are being ripped off by a multi-billion dollar industry.

Here's some of the western music that Bollywood has stolen:

I can find dozens of more Pakistani songs that Bollywood stole. The multi-billion dollar Bollywood industry owes millions of dollars to these Pakistani singers. Most of these Pakistani singers are still alive today but not as rich as those who stole their songs.

Indians even stole from Armenians.

There is a pretty big loophole in the Indian copyright act that makes the whole "remix" thing legal. So Indian "artists" have copied not just Pak music, but from everywhere in the world. No money is owed since there is no stealing.

Version Recording: Limit under the Copyright Act

The cover versions does not amount to copyright violations by virtue of Section 52 (1) (j) as it excludes the making of sound recordings from being infringement provided

(i) the sound recording is made with the license or consent of the owner;
(ii) statutory notice and royalty is given;
(iii) no alteration has been made without the consent of the owner;
(iv) packaging or label are not confusing, and
(v) if the sound recording is not made until the expiration of two calendar years after the end of the year in which the first recording of the work was made.

Its called stealing when you steal word for word from a song that belongs to a singer from a different nation and Bollywood never asked these singers' permission or gave them a single rupee for their songs.

I watched interviews of Pakistani singers like Tassawar Khanum and Rahim Shah on TV who said that Indians have taken their music but never asked their permission or gave them any credit or money.

Bollywood doesn't deserve to be rich, it has no originality, all it does is steal songs and story lines from other nations and please dont show a piece of an Indian legal statement, the whole world doesn't revolve around Indian law.

If your movie industry paid these singers like they paid Nazia Hassan and Atif Aslam, I wouldn't have made this thread, that's why I didn't put up any of Nazia Hassan's and Atif Aslam's songs that were used in Indian movies because they got paid unlike majority of Pakistani singers whose songs are stolen by Bollywood.
