Convener MQM Dr Imran Farooq killed

Sad incident. Killed in UK and revenge will be taken from people of Pakistan by goons.

What a tragedy with this party. If their activists live its a problem for Pakistan if they die its a problem for Pakistan.

Above all its very surprising that he was killed in UK so easily whereas NO one can even touch a hair of altaf in UK.

the onus is on the UK to find the real killers IF this country has NO role in this incident then

.
My observation:

I don't know if some of u have witnessed the video of Altaf Hussain weeping on Geo TV , as he is weeping people around him keep saying 'bhai sabar karain'...'bhai aap bohot himmat walay hain' it really is like a bollywood movie where Sanjay Dutt is sitting in the middle as big boss crying his eyes out.

And now the riots start..we shouldnt have let these people cross the border in 1947 execpt for those who were educated enough to contribute intellactualy. Many of these migrants who would later form MQM were illetreate thugs.
Gangs riot in Pakistani city after London slaying

KARACHI, Pakistan: Gangs torched vehicles and a shop in Pakistan's largest city on Friday after a senior politician from the local ruling party was stabbed to death in London.

Gas stations, schools and markets in Karachi were closed and no public transport was running as news of the stabbing of Imran Farooq spread. The city has a history of political violence, and revenge attacks and acts of arson often follow killings.

Farooq was a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, one of Pakistan's major parties and the largest in the coalition governing Karachi. The MQM is also an important member of the federal government in Islamabad.

The slaying could have implications for national political stability, especially if the MQM accuses its rivals of being involved.

On Friday, an MQM leader said the party thought Farooq, 50, was killed in response to controversial statements made by the leader of party, who himself lives in self-imposed exile in London. London's Metropolitan Police said no arrests had been made and did not speculate on the motive.

Farooq's body was found in north London on Thursday with multiple stab wounds and head wounds.

In a statement, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the killing.

"We have suspended all party activities for 10 days to mourn Imran Farooq's tragic death," said its deputy chief, Farooq Sattar. "It was a great loss to the party and the family." On Friday morning, more than a dozen people broke into a plastics shop and set it on fire near the MQM headquarters, witnesses said. Elsewhere in the city, youths blocked the main road and torched two buses, said Asif Khan, an area resident. Local media reports also said some vehicles were burned and shots fired late Thursday in the city of more than 16 million.

The MQM is accused by critics and opponents of being involved in illegal activities and gangsterism in the city.

Hundreds of its supporters have been killed over the last 20 years, including leaders, in gang warfare in Karachi, including dozens this year alone.

The MQM's leader Altaf Hussain lives in London after leaving in 1992 amid an army operation against the party, which the generals had accused of criminal activities.

According to the MQM's website, Farooq left Pakistan the same year. Neither man returned to Pakistan since.

Hussain regularly addresses large gatherings in Karachi via telephone link. In recent weeks, he appeared to suggest that the country's army should rise up against the civilian government, angering his party's federal coalition partners, including the ruling Pakistan People's Party of President Asif Ali Zardari.

MQM leader Salim Shahzad told Dunya TV that the party saw Farooq's killing as a reaction to Hussain's statements.

The MQM represents mainly descendants of Urdu-speaking migrants from India who settled in Pakistan when it was created in 1947.

It has spoken out against the Taleban and other religious extremists, but rivals accuse the MQM of doing this mostly because of its history of bias against Pashtuns — the major ethnic group that make up the Taleban. More than four million Pashtuns live in Karachi, and the MQM fears their rising influence.

I don't understand the problems with some muhajirs. they show loyalty to india, and they even want to unite with india. why do they need this "MQM" terrorists? Dont muhajirs consider themselves as Pakistanis? I thought most of the Muhajirs in Sindh would consider themslves as "Sindhis".....

If I understand correctly, wasn't Pakistan created to provide a separate homeland to Muslims in the subcontinent. If these people were not allowed to cross the border, it would negate the very reason why Pakistan was formed.

Or would you have proposed that anyone coming to Pakistan in 1947 should have taken an I.Q. test. Perhaps you can conduct an IQ test on the population now and kick those with low IQ out :disagree:

.
I am pleased that this incident happened in UK, atleast we will get some sort of police investigation and report. Not democracy is best revenge bullshit.

As far as this murder of Imran Farooq is concerend " WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND ". :pakistan:

At Above: Nah... Altaf IS an indian RAW agent, so no blame game here :victory:

AT SOMEBOZO.
Man thats very wrong and myopic of u to say such a thing about the migratees of India! its senceless and insensitive and stereotyping! get a better understanding of history and facts!!

what kind of rational is that... take the educated ones and dump the illiterate ones??? so u mean to say it would be ok to kick out the illerate Pakistanis from Punjab or any other province???!!!

2,000,000 Indian muslims sacrificed thier lives for Pakistan! and i bet u MOST OF THEM WERE ILLITERATE!! Including my grandfather!

do u realize that M M Alam was 11 years old when he migrated to Pakistan??? My Taya was 14! and uneducated! yet he took part as a volunteer in the Kashmir 1948 conflict!

Watch ur mouth, its statements like these that breed contention and hatred! U cant weigh love for country over being educated!

Its not as simple! Mohajirs have been subjected to bias in some ways, but so have the Balochis and Sindhis. get this straight! no mohajir wants to join INDIA! where did u concoct this one up from?

Mohajirs are very much Pakistanis!! and they consider themselves as Pakistanis! M M ALAM, EDHI, DR. ABDUL QADEER, RASHID MINHAS all are from Mohajir Families!! You want to say that they dont consider themselves as Pakistanis?

Its treatment like this that hurts Mohajirs!! why do u call them mohajirs? and why not Pakistanis? seems like u are creating the difference here not them.

AND ONE VERRY IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION.... JUST BECAUSE A PERSON BELONGS TO AN URDU SPEAKING/MOHAJIR FAMILY, DOESNT EQUATE HIM TO BE A MQM SUPPORTER!

I belong to an Urdu Speaking family, and consider myself to be a Sindi and Pakistani, but certainly dont support MQM or Altaf a55 wipe one bit!
